Postnatal recovery doesn’t end at 6 weeks. While early healing happens in the first couple of months, research and pelvic health experts agree that full recovery of muscles, connective tissue and hormones can take 12–18 months or longer. There’s no race to ‘bounce back’ — give your body the time it truly needs to heal.
