Team Update

After an unprecedented league campaign in which the Bolton Men’s Team went undefeated in their 12 fixtures (11 wins and one halved match), it is now on to finals day on Sunday 6th September at Hart Common.

In a new format for this year, the semi-finals and finals will be played on one day, with the Bolton Team taking on Turton in the semi-final, with a potential final later in the day against Westhoughton or Old Links.

Congratulations go to Mike Stafford for his team captaincy and the squad of over 25 players who have represented the club in the BGA league this year, including two juniors making their debut this season – it’s made for a fantastic team environment and very enjoyable to watch and participate in.

Congratulations to our Bronze team who have today beaten Saddleworth Golf Club 4-1 to qualify for the Semi-Finals of Lancashire Ladies Bronze Shield trophy on 7th September at Knott End.

Congratulations to Chris Lloyd who won the scratch medal with a score of 142 after a fantastic 68 gross on Saturday in testing conditions.

After an incredibly competitive weekend of golf in the Scratch Medal, we have the qualifiers for knockout stages of the various competitions, namely the Higher Handicaps, Silver Plate and Club Championships.

Huge congratulations to our own Melissa Horrocks (pictured right with Lady Captain Pat Mackrill) who won the Bolton Championship Nellie Whitehead Trophy yesterday at Bolton Old Links GC. Melissa played 2 rounds at the weekend followed by quarters on Monday and semis yesterday morning. She won the final 4 and 2. What a great achievement.
