Bolton Amazons & Rochdale U18s (Bears) faced Crewe and Nantwich at Avenue Street on Sunday in what was a very physical encounter. Crewe started the stronger and soon had a couple of tries on the score board. The 'Bears' side finally woke up and started to play some good rugby, however the much larger Crewe side proved to be to strong. Final score of 7-57 wasn't a true reflection of the match and the commitment shown by the home side.'Bears' try scored by Amazons Charlotte Stone.

Last Sunday saw Bolton Amazons and Rochdale U18s come together and play under the cluster name of 'Bears'.Their opponents were Eccles and West Park 'Saints ',with the game being played at Rochdale.

'Bears' had a few key players missing through injury, and this had an impact on the final score.

Despite losing the match a lot of positives can be taken as well as issues that need working on.A solid shift from all the Amazons involved.

Coaches player of the match went to captain Poppy Lawrenson, who led by example in both defence and attack.
