RESULTS AND HIGHLIGHTS… 🏏

Friday |

Edgworth Fury piled on an imposing 217, leaving the Earthquakes with a tough chase. George Harris got things moving in positive fashion with a quick-fire 43 from 29 balls, but despite the bright start, the Earthquakes were defeated by 91 runs.

Saturday |

The 1st XI travelled to Horwich and posted 162-6, thanks largely to an excellent 76 from Ankit Kalsi. A revised target of 149 gave Horwich an opportunity, and the hosts reached it with seven overs to spare.

Hosting Woodbank, the 2nd XI found themselves in trouble at 68-7, but captain Adil Valli led from the front with a superb 34, helping the side recover to 130 all out.

Woodbank looked in control of the chase before Soyeb turned the game with a brilliant spell of 4-33, backed by outstanding fielding from the whole team. With the visitors needing just 32 runs from the final 10 overs, Safi produced a match-winning spell of 3-9 from 5.3 overs, as Woodbank were bowled out for 122, sealing a fantastic victory.

3rd XI

The 3rd XI hit the road to Flixton and delivered a superb all-round display. Billy Taylor struck early with 3-22, while Aiden Constantine ripped through the middle order with 4-30 as the hosts were dismissed for 101.

With rain looming, the chase needed urgency. Sammy Dziobon set the tone with a positive 27, before unbeaten knocks from Brodie Stuttard (21)* and Bobby Lord (27)* guided the team home. Their unbroken 50-run partnership ensured victory before the weather could intervene.

Unfortunately, the weather had the final say in the 4th XI fixture, with persistent rain forcing the match to be abandoned.

SUNDAY MATCHDAY!

The 3rd XI are back in action as they travel to Flixton and the 4th XI host Bradshaw in the Junior to Senior Development league.

The 3rd XI game is scheduled to start at 1:30pm with the 4th XI scheduled to start at 1:00pm.
