Farnworth CC U9 Falcons β Match Report
What a game. The Falcons pushed Atherton all the way this morning, falling short by just one run in a brilliant advert for junior cricket. Atherton finished on a net 273, and our lads and lasses responded with a composed, disciplined chase to reach 272, showing real maturity with the bat and ball.
There were standout moments everywhere: Deanna Patel and Carl Grier built the innings with calm, confident batting, while Luca Eccles added real spark in the middle overs. With the ball, Jasper Grundy delivered a superb threeβwicket spell, backed up by tight bowling from Bradley Kellett, who produced a maiden-filled, twoβrun spell that kept us right in the contest.
A oneβrun defeat stings, but performances like this show exactly how far this group has come. The teamwork, energy and improvement every week are clear to see. The Falcons should be proud of themselves today πππ₯π₯

Double Derby Defeat for FCC this weekend
π 1st XI Match Report β Derby Day Thriller
FSC 1st XI held their nerve to secure a dramatic 4-wicket victory in a low-scoring derby clash against Farnworth CC.
On a bowler-friendly surface, runs were at a premium from the outset. We were bundled out for just 75 in 32.2 overs, with disciplined bowling and relentless pressure keeping the scoring in check throughout.
In reply, things were far from straightforward. The tricky conditions continued to challenge the chasing side, and FSC found themselves in a tense chase with wickets falling at regular intervals.
However Barrow & Tonge delivered a composed partnership when it mattered most. Their approach guided FSC through the difficult moments & ultimately steered them to victory, finishing on 76/6.
A gritty, hard-fought win in true derby day fashion.
π 2nd XI Match Report
FSC 2nd XI produced a commanding performance to secure an emphatic 89-run victory over FCC 2nd XI.
Batting first, Social Circle set the tone with a strong total of 186 all out from 40.1 overs. Contributions throughout the order ensured a competitive score, with partnerships building pressure on the opposition.
In response, FCC struggled to gain momentum against a disciplined bowling attack. Regular wickets kept is on the back foot, and we were eventually bowled out for 97 in 31.5 overs.
