🔵🟡 PRE-SEASON FIXTURE | ROYAL ANGLIAN REGIMENT 🟡🔵

The Blue & Gold are back in action! 💙💛

The squad head to Kendrew Barracks for their first pre-season fixture, taking on The Royal Anglian Regiment.

It’s a fixture with plenty of history, with the two sides having met previously in Cyprus, Kendrew, Germany and Bourne.

This fixture is played in memory of Private Joseva Lewaicei and Private Adam Morris, as both sides come together to honour their memory, whilst the Man of the Match award is presented in honour of Private Koroibulileka.

As the fixture is being played on base, supporters will need to be registered for access. Please DM the club if you’d like to attend, and we’ll provide the details needed to get onto base.

🗣️ Head Coach Hickman’s comment:

“Having Will around the squad has been great. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team, and I know he’s going to be a great asset. His experience of the game, leadership and understanding of what’s required at this level will be invaluable, both on and off the pitch.”

“Having moved to the area, it’s been great to get back to playing rugby after some time away from the game. I’ve really enjoyed pre-season and the lads have been really welcoming. I’m looking forward to wearing the blue and gold this season and having success with the club.”

“Alex has come back into rugby after spending the last three years in Australia, and he’s already shown some really strong skills and a great attitude in pre-season. I’m looking forward to seeing him settle into the squad, develop throughout the season and see what he can bring to the team.”

“Having lived in Australia for the last three years, I wanted to get back into playing rugby again. I’m really excited to be joining Bourne, getting stuck in with the boys and testing myself at a strong level. Looking forward to getting started.”

We have a new member of our Rugby club family. Meet Goldie. She will be working hard keeping the training area cut. Goldie is quite shy and prefers to be left alone. Can everyone respect her space. She will be sleeping in her dock during training sessions please don’t wake her up.
Her brother Bluey is still unpacking but will be joining her soon.

⭐️ Fixtures Announcement ⭐️

After a delayed start to the season due to the weather and unplayable pitches, the 1st XV have been working hard through an extended pre-season and are now fully gearing up for the league campaign.

The 1st XV kick off their league season away at Lincoln on 26th September at 3pm, followed by two more away fixtures against Keyworth and Spalding.

Our first home league fixture comes on 17th October, when we welcome Southwell to Bourne.

We’re proud to welcome Drew Castle back to Bourne Rugby, a great addition to our senior coaching team 💪

A former junior and senior player, Drew returns with county honours, London & SE experience and an RFU Level 2 qualification.
