WORKS AT IFORD PLAYING FIELDS

⚡ What’s happening?
SSEN and Aureos are carrying out works as part of a ÂŁ12m investment to strengthen and improve the reliability of the local electricity network. The next phase involves installing underground ducting beneath the River Stour using specialist Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).

🏉 What does this mean for the club?
There will be some construction activity around the site, including temporary track matting, equipment and fencing. However, the playing fields will remain accessible for normal use, and all construction activity will remain at least 5 metres from the rugby pitch.

đźš— Car park
The car park will be closed to traffic once a week during the works. Closure dates will be communicated in advance so members can plan accordingly.

⏱️ The main drilling works are expected to finish before Christmas.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while these works take place. Iford Playing Fields are incredibly important to our rugby community, and we’ll continue to work with the project team to minimise disruption to the club and keep members updated.
