Butchers Coppice Activity Centre offers residential experiences to youth groups and adventurous activities to all

Butchers Coppice is a 7½ acre youth campsite situated in the north west corner of Bournemouth, close to Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, the Isle of Purbeck and the New Forest. We are also the closest Scout campsite to Brownsea Island, the birthplace of Scouting. The campsite is easily accessible by road, rail or air. We kicked off our summer season with an amazing high ropes adventure at Butcher's Coppice! 🌞🌲

So proud of everyone in the group for stepping out of their comfort zones and supporting one another!

Our first master at arms badge courses of the year! If you’re a local cub/ scout leader please do pass this onto your scouts so they can join in the adventure 🏹🤺🎯

We will also be producing our own badge for any eager scouts who complete all 3 of our master at arms courses (archery, shooting and fencing)… we already have a couple set to compete this feat at the end of March!

We’re always busy making improvements to the site and listening to your great feedback especially with the summer season fast approaching. Take a look at some of the recent additions:

New museum ramp, bouldering wall, free sanitary products in the toilets, planters, new set of pioneering poles, tuck shop souvenir window (in progress) and more!
