What a wonderful day we had when the lovely Mr Kellogg’s, the British Miniature Horse, from Linking Hearts therapy horses, came to visit Merceode Lodge! 🐴🥰

Our residents were absolutely overjoyed to see him and couldn’t wait to meet him, give him a gentle stroke and, of course, say a big hello! There were smiles, laughter and so many wonderful moments as Mr Kellogg’s worked his magic and brought joy to everyone around him. ❤️

But one of the most special moments of the visit came from Marian, one of our previous residents, who had written a beautiful poem especially for Mr Kellogg’s.

As Marian’s poem was read aloud, it brought a tear to everyone’s eye. ❤️ It was such a heartfelt and beautiful tribute to a very special little horse and perfectly captured the happiness he brings to people wherever he goes.

"Mr Kellogg’s, Mr Kellogg’s,
A Beauty through and through,
A British Miniature Horse,
Bringing joy to Me & You,
He got his name quite simply,
As you might have guessed of course,
Born near the Kellogg’s Factory,
A special little horse,
He is so very sturdy,
Gentle, calm & sweet,
He would never hurt a single soul,
Or knock you on your feet,
His carers take him all around,
To visit lots of places,
And everywhere he trots along,
He brings out smiling faces,
People love to meet him,
With a hug and a big hello,
If you have never met him,
You are missing out you know!"

A huge thank you to Mr Kellogg’s and his wonderful carers for bringing him to Merceode Lodge and giving our residents such a memorable experience. 🌸

And a very special thank you to Marian for putting into words exactly what makes Mr Kellogg’s so special. Your beautiful poem certainly touched all of our hearts. ❤️

Visiting Stars Appeal - Salisbury District Hospital's Charity today with Kelloggs.
Walking through the hospital wards and seeing the smiles and reactions from patients, staff, and visitors is always so incredibly moving!!
