So, I am still personal training - I will always do this! - but I am also branching out to do more classes within the community helping people with heart problems get back to doing the kind of activities/exercise they used to do before a cardiac event. Classes will also be suitable for those with pulmonary issues, diabetes or live a sedentary lifestyle and want to increase their fitness levels reducing their risk of future heart problems. Classes will be varying levels from low intensity to HIIT - all run by fully qualified BACPR instructors Heart 1st Fitness Coralié and me ♥️ Our first class will be at Kinson Community Centre - if you are interested send us an email to get booked on!

This is proof that you can still exercise with - 30mins running on the flat, on the sand, up the zigzags! Obviously, we built up to this over months of training whilst keeping within heart training zones and . It’s so good to get out in the fresh air with clients- and I get to train too! 🙌🏼 ♥️

"Cardiac rehabilitation, sometimes called cardiac rehab, helps you to recover and get back to as full a life as possible after a heart attack, heart surgery or following a diagnosis such as heart failure". (British Heart Foundation)

Having a cardiac event does not mean that you can never exercise again, or never do the activities you once did - things might just need a bit of tweaking for a while until things improve. Exercises through the cardiac rehab programme help to increase fitness levels so that people can return to hobbies like gardening, golf as well as being able to do the shopping, washing the car and everyday chores. For those who were exercising previously, cardiac rehab will improve your chances to get back to the gym and exercise safely without the risk of a further event.

As a cardiac rehab instructor, my job is to help people get back to doing the things they used to do in a safe way. Please get in touch if there is anything you would like to know: if you are the one needing cardiac rehab or on behalf of others.

Having doesn’t mean taking it too easy… today’s session: 3k run around the park and a tyre workout!

Regular exercise, changing bad lifestyle choices and healthy eating have all contributed to a client improving his ejection fraction from 25-30% to a normal range of over 50% in just three months! 'C' increased his activity levels to PT'ing 2x week, walking most days and cycling. The benefits: fewer hospitalisations, improved mood, better heart function - all helping towards a prolonged life! Well done 'C'. All training has been outside too, even on the more chilly, rainier days, so no excuses!😉
