β½ π Association Success Story πβ½
We're proud to be nominated for the English Schools' Football Association 'Association Success Story Award' for the 2nd year running.
This nomination highlights the work and dedication that's been put over the past few years to offer a wider range of experiences and opportunities for footballers in our district.
This year, we've expanded to 7 teams, entered the Southern Counties Competitions, the ESFA Champions Cup and Knockout competitions and we attended the Jersey Primary Schools FA Festival for the first time in our associations history.
It's been an extremely busy year with thousands of miles travelled (not even an exaggeration) but plenty of valuable experiences had and long lasting memories made.
The nomination itself is a great achievement and something we're very proud of but if you are able to vote for East Cornwall in the Association Success Story category it would be much appreciated.
We'd also like to congratulate the other nominations and wish them the best of luck! π

β«βͺβ½ East Vs West β½π‘ β«
We've had three fixtures recently against our close rivals West Cornwall. All were competitive games with lots of talent on display from both associations.
West Cornwall came away with the win in both the U11s and U12s Boys games where we showed lots of fight and determination but were outclassed by two incredibly strong sides. In the U15s Boys game, East Cornwall won 2-0 with a brilliant performance from the team following their recent success at Millfield last month. Well done to all of the players involved, it's great to see the future prospects within our County competing at a high level and doing so with such quality.

πβ½ Southern Counties Cup Finals β½π
Our U11 Boys and Girls Teams took part in the Southern County League Cup finals today at Oxford City FC.
The boys kicked things off in the morning and even though we took a few games to get going, we ended up with a great set of results, drawing 2 and losing just 1 of their group games. Unfortunately, we narrowly missed out on the top 2 places and finished 3rd place in the group. The team capped off the event with another resolute and assured performance in the 3rd vs 3rd game, drawing 0-0 against a very competitive Brent SFA side. The fact that we draw and beat the two teams who finished above us in the group, just shows how close and competitive the games were. The boys were fantastic throughout, worked incredibly hard and should be really proud of themselves.
In the afternoon, it was the girls turn to showcase their ability. In the group stage, we drew 2 and won 2 which put us in 2nd place. We then faced Caerphilly SFA in the semi finals which we dominated possession but couldn't get the goal the performance deserved. The game finished 0-0 and subsequently went to penalties. Thanks to some clinical finishing and some incredible saves from our keeper, Alice, we won the shootout and progressed through to the final. Here, we came up against a very strong Slough side, who like us, had hardly conceded any goals all day. Although we played some brilliant football, we couldn't break them down and the final finished 0-0. It was mutually agreed that the Trophy would be shared and both teams would be crowned champions! This way, 22 girls left with huge smiles on their faces and lots of positive memories made! The girls showed so much fight, determination and resilience throughout the event and represented our district with great pride.
We'd like to thank for hosting the event, Bob Owen from for organising both competitions and all of our player's parents for making the long journey from down in Cornwall! π

Our U15s finished the week with a draw against Plymouth SFA U14s. A slower paced game but still some neat football being played. We found ourselves 1-0 and 2-1 down but showed character to fight back. With the game finishing 2-2.
Overall, it's been an incredible week for the U15s, having only played two games together previously, the players have bonded on and off the pitch and become a cohesive team in such a short space of time. The boys played with passion, excitement and with freedom, coming away with 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw and scoring an impressive 18 goals throughout the week. This is a huge achievement for all involved!
A big thank you to our U15s Coach Sam Matthews who was the driving force behind creating the team this season, providing the players with this fantastic opportunity! π
