This might ruffle a few feathers but I stand by this!

Vegetables contain so much goodness, it’s just ludicrous now to think that I used to eat a lot less veg, purely so I could have a wispa or twirl 🙈

The goodness in the veg simply outweighs the calorific value.

I wholeheartedly believe that if you’re needing to put yourself into a deficit, you should drop the carb and fats rather than lessen the peas/carrots on your plate 🤷🏻‍♀️

As for fruit, there’s a couple reasons why I do count those:
➡️ some fruits are quite high in calories
➡️ they are a lot easier to over consume on as they’re much tastier
➡️ you need to draw the line 🤷🏻‍♀️ you need to start counting the calories somewhere!

Some people don’t count leafy green vegetables and don’t count fruit like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries etc but this feels a bit complicated to me.

Keep it simple: vegetables no, fruit yes ✅

Go, get strong and eat your veg 💪🏻

This is one of my clients (her name isn’t Gertrude by the way 😉) and she came with some niggles like the rest of us.

She’s worked her backside off. She’s turned up week in, week out. She always brings the energy and she has loves it.

Her back didn’t flare up yesterday from carrying a heavy bag around all day and her wrist feels a lot better and stronger too.

Someone at her work commented on her arms looking toned a few weeks ago which made her day 💪🏻

Her confidence grows each week.

Let me tell you, she didn’t turn up confident to her first Bootcamp! She was worried and wasn’t sure whether to come… and now look at her!

It all starts with that small step and working alongside someone to help you.

If this feels like you and you’re also stuck on how to feel better, you know who to message 😜

Does anyone else do this?!

We take her to Paultons Park Saturday too which costs a bomb 🙈😂

I get too carried away!!

One squatted her bodyweight and went to failure ✅
One squatted twice her weight from week 1 AND with better form ✅
One squatted twice her weight from week 1 AND chucked a couple 12.5kg over her head after for good measure ✅

These 3 bring the goods every week and I am totally here for it!

There’s even some videos in there this week (thanks girls) featuring my super excited/slightly annoying praise 😂 I turn into a seal when PTing!

I’m so excited to see where these are by the end of the block as they are pushing themselves every session 🙌🏻💪🏻

Well done you 3!

A different post from me today but this is my reality right now.

I’m currently loving building the business but I’m at full mental capacity on a daily basis. I am stressed to the max and I have constant mum guilt from being a terrible mum right now 😔

Don’t even get me started on how bad I am at being wife 🙈

If something is worth having, you need to work for it and this is what I keep telling myself on a tough day/week.

And as an aside note, hitting the like button, commenting, sharing or recommending me will literally make my day! That’s the same for any business owner 😉

High expectations or misaligned expectations?

If you’re new to your weight loss or your “getting healthy” journey, then you can’t go from 0 to 100 in one go.

It won’t last. Give it a few weeks, you’re back to square one.

Here’s what I’d suggest:

1. Start with 2 workouts a week. Go for full body to hit everything. Once you’ve done this for 2-3 weeks, move on to point 2
2. Work out your average step count and then add 2k to that number. This is your new step goal for the next 2 weeks. Once you’ve hit that (as well as your 2x workouts a week), move on to point 3.
3. Alter your diet. If your aim is fat loss, start with 300 cals less a day. If it’s simply a healthier diet, start adding more fibre to your diet. More fruit, veg, seeds, nuts, beans etc.
4. Once you’re hitting all of the previous points for 3 weeks consistently, add in a 3rd workout a week.

A healthy life is a cumulative effect.

Build it up slowly and that’s how you get proper results.

Remove the pressure to do it all at once and you might just manage to get the ball rolling! 😉
