Hi all-
I have unfortunately been taken into hospital by ambulance twice this week due to the medical episode i have been having.
I’ve been very unwell since June
I’ve lost 11lbs in weight from then till now.

On Friday evening I finally got an answer, I have been diagnosed with POTS. There’s a lot to learn about the condition and there’s many things I used to do that I will not be able to do moving forward.

Hopefully now that I know what I have, I will be able to start recovering and getting my body back to better health.
For the remainder of this year there will be no running. So I will be back next year to start again with that.
My consultant seems positive that if I’m able to get my symptoms under control as I learn to manage living with this condition then I should be able to go back to running next year 🤞🏼

Just an update. I’ll keep an eye out on this page. However this will be the final update for the time being.

Sadly, I can no longer take part in the half marathon this year. I was taken into hospital on Monday night, and I am now under cardiac investigation under priority. I was discharged from hospital and within an hour I was already given further appointments dates for cardiac intervention. These appointments are happening within the next few weeks.

This year, I am not allowed to continue with running. However hopefully I will finally be able to reach a diagnosis and get support to get better. Meaning that next year, I should be back to good health and can potentially get back into running.

Thankyou for all the support on my running journey up till now. Even whilst I’ve been unwell the past couple of months. I’m signing off for the time being so I can concentrate on getting better. ❤️‍🩹

Hi all just a quick update . unfortunately health wise I'm not doing very well, I'm being closely monitored by healthcare professionals who are looking after me well. I am currently now going under cardiac investigation due to my poor recovery from whatever is causing me to become unwell.

I have had a chat with the nurse manager as I am of course due to run a half marathon in just 10 weeks time. I am waiting to have a 24 hour heart monitor fitted. If this concludes that I have a heart condition, sadly I will not be allowed to participate in the half marathon this year.
If it comes back that my decline in health is not being caused by a cardiac issue, I am allowed to run but only under 1 condition.

Due to me being unwell for so long now I have lost a significant amount of weight. I wont put what my exact weight is as I don't need to share that amount of information, but I am fins with saying my BMI is now scoring at 16. If you look this up you'll be able to see what risks I'm currently facing. To be able to run the half marathon if I don't have heart issues, I will have to get my weight back up to where it should be right now. Which ill say is over half a stone. Theres a lot going on right now but with the right help all will be ok

Me again- glad to say I am finally beginning to recover. I’m tolerating food much better, the dizziness is definitely improving. And I’m feeling very positive about finally being able to go back to work next week and continue my training for the Bournemouth half Marathon. I put in an order for the fundraising top today so hopefully they’ll be sent out soon 🙂

I’ve remained in contact with the charity who have been very supportive whilst I’ve been unwell. ❤️

Hi everyone. Trying to keep the page updated as much as possible. Unfortunately I became unwell again, was seen by another paramedic yesterday who has advised that she feels further medical investigation is now needed.
I will be off work for another week, I’m still unable to run just yet. And I’m being reviewed again on the 31st to see what happens from here on.
To all following my journey, Thankyou for sticking with me whilst dealing with these health concerns. My training is paused but has not stopped.
As soon as I’m well enough to get back into it, I’ll be out there working hard 🏃🏼‍♀️

Little update- I feel as though I am finally on the mend, I still can’t run again just yet though- the plan is to restart my training plan in August.
This is just to give my body another 2 weeks recovery time, to prevent any more fainting episodes
🙂

Hi all, I am not allowed to run this week, or for the time being.
I was seen by a paramedic yesterday due to falling unwell again suddenly.
She has confirmed that I do actually still have heatstroke. I’ve had it now since the 23rd of June! I have a fever and experiencing vasovagal episodes.
I have been advised to do no training. And to also not attend work next week either.
So will be missing in action for a little longer whilst my body continues to recover as it’s not quite got there yet.
Stay safe in this heatwave all ☀️ 👋🏻

After some very kind donations, we are just £115 away from hitting the target for the fundraiser!
So blessed, so thankful, even just sharing my journey so far has got engagement with this and I’ll be forever grateful.
Thankyou for following my journey this far, and continuing to support me right up to event day🫶🏼
Only 98 days to go! 🏃🏼‍♀️
