Selling you a fresh start is easier than selling you the patience to keep going.
A new challenge, supplement or “revolutionary” product gives you something exciting to buy.
The less glamorous message?
The boring stuff works.
Sticking with the basic movements and getting better at them, instead of changing your workout every time you see a fancy exercise on Instagram.
Building your meals around good, whole foods, instead of expecting the latest supplement to make up for how you eat.
Training regularly, week after week. Including the weeks when motivation is low and life gets in the way.
A six-week challenge can get you started. But what happens in week seven matters too.
There’s always something new to buy. That doesn’t mean there’s always something new you need.
You can enjoy your training. You don’t have to leave every session exhausted or make your life miserable to make progress.
But you do need to give the basics enough time to work.
That’s the bit no one can sell you in a tub.
