In Loving Memory of Simon Ryan
It is with great sadness and heartfelt devastation that we announce the sudden passing of our player Simon Ryan. Simon only joined the club in 2024 having moved to the area from Brighton but was a much loved character and friend.
He was a cricket lover first and foremost and his passion for the game and the club were enormous - he would always be one of the first to volunteer for club working parties.
He was a third team stalwart excelling with the ball on many occasions in his appearances for the Gudgeons. He took 41 wickets and scored 300 league runs for the club in his two seasons, including a best of 5 wickets for 6 runs in 9 overs against Biddestone. He was also awarded the accolade of 3rd team bowler of the year in 2024.
Simon was looking in good health over the last few winter nets and was really looking forward to the season ahead. His unexpected passing has taken everyone in the club a back.
On behalf of everyone at the club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Di, and all of his family both locally and back in Brighton. Simon’s character and love for the game and Bradford on Avon Cricket Club will never be forgotten.

Best of luck to our very own Ava Pike who’s currently on tour with Somerset in Sri Lanka. A great opportunity for her to develop her batting and wicket keeping and a fab experience of a lifetime

In Loving Memory of Andrew March
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew March, a cherished member of our cricket club, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Andrew rarely missed a game, proudly supporting his sons Rory and William throughout their years in youth cricket. His dedication extended beyond the boundary as a willing scorer and thus he was every coach's dream parent.
One of Andrew’s most treasured moments came in late 2024 when he shared the field with his son Rory, playing three 3rd team games together - a memory that will live on in our hearts. Andrew leaves behind his loving wife Nichola and family.
Andrew was a true gentleman whose warmth and commitment touched everyone at the club. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
On behalf of everyone at the club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Nichola, Rory, William, and the entire family during this difficult time. Andrew’s spirit and love for the game will never be forgotten.

We’re thrilled to share that work has now begun on our brand-new, two-lane cricket net facility, with Total-Play leading the installation. This £60,000 project is set to transform our training setup—thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts within our club community.
From fun events to generous donations, it’s been a team effort to reach this milestone. The installation is expected to be completed in just two weeks, bringing us closer to offering top-tier practice conditions for all our players.
Stay tuned for progress updates and a big thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. You’ve bowled us over!
