πŸ’™βš½ PLAY SAFE WEEKEND | 3rd & 4th OCTOBER βš½πŸ’™

This weekend, football across the country is coming together for FA Play Safe Weekend β€” and here at Westwood United Youth FC, safeguarding our children is something we believe in every single week of the season.

This year’s message is β€œKeep Up The Convo” πŸ’¬

We want every child at Westwood to feel safe, supported, listened to and able to speak to a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right.

Football should be a place where children can:
⚽ Have fun
πŸ’™ Feel safe and included
πŸ—£οΈ Speak up and be listened to
🀝 Be treated with kindness and respect
🌟 Enjoy being part of a team and their community

As coaches, volunteers, parents, supporters and everyone involved with Westwood, we all have a part to play in creating a safe and positive environment for our children.

Let’s keep the conversation going β€” not just this weekend, but throughout the whole season. πŸ’™

Westwood United Youth FC β€” football, community, kindness & safeguarding. βš½πŸ’™

8–2 β€” WHAT A WIN! πŸ”₯⚽️

Against a side that, I might add, beat Devizes 11–3 β€” so this was a fantastic result!

A much-improved performance and, more importantly, a much better attitude. It’s great to see you guys starting to gel, working for each other and playing as a team. πŸ’ͺ

We still need to keep our shape and start moving the ball a little quicker, but that will come with time and hard work.

Morgan with 4 goals and deservedly taking home Man of the Match! πŸ†βš½οΈ

And what strikes from William and JJ! πŸš€πŸ”₯

And big hugo finding the net …

Let’s keep working together, keep improving and see what next week brings!

We face Chippenham who have had a great start to the season so will be a good tough test !

COME ON THE WESTWOOD!!! πŸ’™βš½οΈ

⚽ U8 Match Report ⚽

What a game of football that was! To be 4–4 going into the final quarter just shows how much this team has come along. The improvement over the last few weeks has been fantastic, and today we saw a great attitude from everyone.

The listening, marking and teamwork were brilliant, and every single player played their part. We unfortunately lost our way a little in the final quarter, but that’s something we can learn from and work on.

A special welcome to our new player Josiah, who had an absolutely fantastic introduction! He played really well and even got himself on the scoresheet β€” what a way to start! πŸ‘βš½

πŸ† Player of the Match: Noah πŸ†
Noah did everything he was asked to do today and showed a fantastic mentality throughout the game. He worked incredibly hard and led by example. Well deserved! πŸ‘

EVERYONE played really well today, and the coaches couldn’t be prouder of the effort and attitude shown.

Our first win is coming! πŸ’™βš½ As long as we keep working hard at training, listening and improving together, it won’t be far away.

Well done Westwood! πŸ’™

⚽️Match report under 11 dragons⚽️

Overall, another fantastic game from the Dragons , with some really positive football on show. Our passing and build-up play was much better today, and the boys did a great job of winning the ball back and putting pressure on the opposition. πŸ‘

We may not have created as many chances today, but the important thing was that the boys kept working hard and never gave up.

Ash came close to getting on the scoresheet with his chances, while Ellis grabbed his first goal βš½οΈπŸ‘ and Reuben found the net with a fantastic long-range effort! What a goal! πŸ”₯

The boys were a little quiet on the pitch today, so that’s something we’ll continue to work on.

Overall, we are very pleased with the performance and another win for our Dragons! πŸ’™βš½οΈ

3 games, 3 wins!

πŸ† Man of the Match – Brandon! πŸ†

Brandon was fantastic today, playing in three different positions and giving everything to keep the pressure on the opposition. His ball control was brilliant, and his work rate throughout the game was outstanding. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Well done Brandon β€” thoroughly deserved! πŸ†πŸ’™

Well done to ALL the boys today. Another step forward, another win and plenty of positives to take away! πŸ‘βš½οΈ

πŸ’™βš½ A HUGE thank you to our kit sponsor! βš½πŸ’™

We are absolutely delighted to have the support of KC Brown builders LTD who have sponsored the football kit for our Westwood United Youth FC under 9s team. πŸ‘

For a brand-new grassroots club like ours, sponsorship like this makes such a huge difference. It helps our players look and feel like a team while giving them something they can be incredibly proud to wear every time they step onto the pitch. πŸ’™βš½

We are so grateful for your support and for believing in what we are building here at Westwood United.

Thank you for being part of our journey! πŸ’™

Please show our fantastic sponsor some love and support their business where you can! πŸ‘

⚽ Match Report Under 9s ⚽

A tough game for the boys today, but lots of positives to take away and plenty for them to learn from as they continue to grow and develop as a team. πŸ’™

The boys created some great chances, which was fantastic to see, and Macsen getting on the scoresheet was brilliant! πŸ‘βš½ Henry also pulled off some fantastic saves and kept working hard throughout. πŸ§€πŸ‘

There were some really positive moments, with the boys playing two great quarters that they should be incredibly proud of. They are still learning about man marking, staying in their positions and not all following the ball β€” something that will come with time, experience and plenty more games together.

Overall, a really positive performance from everyone, with the boys continuing to learn, improve and enjoy their football. πŸ’™βš½

A special congratulations to Bobby , who was awarded Man of the Match! πŸ‘πŸ† The boys all agreed he deserved it, which makes it even more special!

A big well done to all the boys today β€” keep working hard, keep learning and most importantly, keep enjoying your football! πŸ‘βš½
