Hello! I often have great questions about how ballet shoes work. Here is a quick video with FAQs!
✨For recreational Ballet, a leather or canvas soft shoe is perfect. Whether you find them on Vinted, online or from a dance shop, so long as they fit comfortably, that's the most important thing!
✨ If you are buying Ballet shoes from a Dance brand such as Bloch or Capezio, the shoes can come up small so trying a size bigger than you would normally wear in outdoor shoes might be more comfortable for you
✨ Ballet shoes have one elastic going across the foot OR two elastics crossing over like in the video, otherwise they will just fall off. If you are buying a new pair of shoes and they have only half an elastic sewn on, please sew the other half on to make sure your shoe is secure.
✨ There is no left or right shoe, you can wear soft shoes on either foot! Some people prefer to be consistent and mark the soles 'L' and 'R', particularly if you are wearing a leather shoe, but whatever works best, go with that!
