Low Moor Lakers Rounders Team

⚾️ Leeds Regionals ⚾️

Today the Low Moor Lakers travelled over to Swillington to attend the Rounders England Leeds Regional competition for 2026.

We came 1st place in our group putting us through to the quarter finals against the runners up of group D Halifax Hornets where we took the win and progressed to the semi finals to face Horsforth Hawks.

A nail biting game against Horsforth saw us defending a score of 3 rounders after our batting innings, some fantastic play from all the lakers meant we managed to win the semis and keep Horsforth to just 2 rounders! Meaning we were into the final and had achieved our goal of a place at Nationals for 2026 🎉🎉

Unfortunately we lost to Spen Valley Vixens A in the final 2 to 1.5 rounders. LML had a great day all round and are the runners up of the Leeds regionals for 2026 💙🤍

Congratulations to for being Leeds Regional champions! Was a great final to play you guys in! ❤️

Now on to Nationals in Wellingborough 18th July 2026 💪🏼⚾️

Antics at the Rounder England Regional Tournament. We found some time between wins and toilet breaks to have a dance and a sing song! We’re chuffed with our achievements today. We had two players on their regional tournament debut! And we couldn’t be more proud of them and our whole team for the effort and digging deep against some great teams today! On to nationals in July! Shout out to our supporters for coming and cheering us on!

Low Moor Lakers v Hanging Heaton

Last nights game was played in honour of the life of Jay Liu, husband to our lovely Chen. Jay sadly passed away unexpectedly at the weekend, a minutes silence was held at the start of the game to show our respect to Jay and to keep Chen, Kaitlyn and Kiin in our thoughts at this difficult time ❤️

Captain Nic won the toss chose to field and put Hanging Heaton in to bat.

Half‑time:

Receiving her second Umpires Player of the Match was Vice Captain Vix for an being a magician around 1st base 🪄

PB & Ricardo chose Coach Siobhan as their Player of the Match for great backstopping and batting!

Morley Town Football club are raising funds to secure potential life saving equipment after the sudden devastating loss of Jay.
Jay was the not only Chen’s loving husband but also her biggest supporter on game days, always encouraging Chen to be the amazing player she is. Jay will be missed by the Lakers & our love and prayers are with Chen, Kiin and Caitlyn always.

As a club, we are heartbroken by the sudden loss of our friend and coach, Jason Liu. He was a huge part of our community, giving his time, energy, and passion to everyone involved. He will be deeply missed by us all.

A JustGiving page to raise funds for a defibrillator at the club, helping to protect players, coaches, and supporters in the future was set up by West End Park.

Any funds raised beyond the cost of the defibrillator will be given directly to Jason's family to support them with funeral costs and during this incredibly difficult time.
