A big thank you to everyone who came to see me at the Mathewsons Live Show this weekend. It was fantastic to meet so many people and chat with everyone who showed such a great interest in the sport I love.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, asked questions about my bikes, and supported junior drag bike racing. Your encouragement means a lot.
Hopefully I've inspired a few more people to follow the sport, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Today we met up with Clare and Tom from Pelican Films, along with their two lovely children, Sam and Ruby.
We had a lovely lunch together, but they had an amazing surprise waiting for me. They presented me with my very own RTS Award! π
On the awards night, only one trophy is presented, so I never expected to have one of my own. Claire and Tom had arranged with the RTS for me to have my very own award, I was blown away.
A huge thank you to Clare, Tom, Sam and Ruby for such a thoughtful and generous surprise. It means so much. β€οΈ

Yesterday was another big step forward.
I arrived at Elvington Top Speed Monday straight from Melbourne Raceway for some more valuable seat time. I was back on my original top speed bike/Drag Bikeβnot the quickest bike, but one I'm really comfortable and confident riding.
I took things steady, building up run by run, and finished the day with a top speed of 55mph.
Most importantly, everything felt good. My confidence continues to grow, and it feels great to be making steady progress. One step at a time! πͺποΈ
Thanks to Harvey Brewster for the pics ππ

What a weekendβ¦ I did it. β€οΈποΈ
I took the biggest step since my accident and got back on a motorcycle.
I took my original drag bike to Melbourne Raceway for the Mid Summer Nationals. After getting enough safety gear together. I arrived on Friday morning and even walked down the track to the exact spot where I had my accident at the last event. It was an emotional moment, but one I knew I had to face.
On Saturday evening, I got back on the bike for the first time to settle my nerves. It didn't take long before I started to feel comfortable again.
Then on Sunday, I took the next big step and made my first run down the track. It was an incredibly emotional moment for all of us, but I did it. β€οΈ
After a few steady runs and qualifying, I went straight through to the final where I was up against William once again. William took the win, but I couldn't be happier with second place.
The result almost feels like a bonus. I'm incredibly proud of myself for finding the courage to get back on the bike after everything that's happened. Finishing 2nd overall makes the weekend even more special.
It has been a difficult and emotional weekend in many ways, but I'm back, and I'm excited for the rest of the season.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me. The encouragement from my fellow racers, the racing family, and everyone who has sent kind messages has meant more than you'll ever know. Thank you. π
As always, thank you to all of my sponsors and supporters. I couldn't do this without you. β€οΈπ

Update #4
I've been back to the hospital today to have my stitches removed... wow, that wasn't the most pleasant experience! π
After a little bit of gas and air, I managed to get through it.
The good news is that my wounds are healing well, and that's the main thing. I'll be back again next week for another check-up.
Thank you all so much for all the love, support, and kind messages. It really does mean a lot to me β€οΈ

Update #3 β€οΈ
I was back at the hospital today to have the cast removed from my hand. It wasn't the most pleasant experience, but I got through it!
I've now got my fingers in splints, which has given me a bit more movement. The doctors are really happy with how everything is healing, so that's great news.
I'm back again on Thursday to have my stitches removed, so fingers crossed everything continues to go well.
Thank you all once again for the incredible love, support, and kind messages. It really does mean the world to me and my family. β€οΈπ

Operation Update #2 π
Great news! My operation this morning went really well.
The surgeons were able to use tissue from the top of my finger to repair the damage, and they're really pleased with how everything has gone. They're confident that I shouldn't need any more surgery for the time being. There is a possibility I may need another procedure in a few months if there are any issues, but for now, it's all very positive.
As a family, we're completely overwhelmed by the love, support, kind messages, and well wishes we've received. Every comment and message has meant so much to us and has helped us through what has been a emotional few days.
And, as you can probably tell from the photo... yep, I'm back at Elvington Airfield for the weekend! π You can't keep me away for long!
Thank you all once again for your support.
Love,
Alfie β€οΈ
