Today I received an official invitation to the British Drag Racing Hall of Fame Gala, where I will be awarded a Stuart Bradbury Junior Drag Racing Award for finishing 2nd Overall in the Melbourne Raceway Junior Bike Championship.

This is an incredible honour, and something that means so much to me and my whole team. We are really looking forward to attending what promises to be a very special evening.

To be receiving the Stuart Bradbury Award makes this even more special. It is a real privilege, and I am incredibly proud to be part of the Melbourne Juniors been recognised in this way.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the season—my family, sponsors, friends, and everyone who has helped me on this amazing journey. I couldn't have done it without you.

I can't wait for the gala evening!

Melbourne Raceway Final Round Report

Melbourne Raceway marked the final round of the 2026 season. As my Mini Top Fuel drag bike is still away being rebuilt following my crash in July, I had to race on my original drag bike. It proved once again just how consistent it is, allowing me to push hard all weekend and produce some excellent, consistent times.

Sunday brought some fantastic racing. In the semi-final I lined up against Masise. With a slight increase in the tailwind, I thought I was going to break out, so I backed off just before the finish line. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the wrong decision, and I missed out on a place in the final. That's racing! Congratulations to Masise, who went on to beat William in the final and take a well-deserved victory.

Although I didn't make the final, the weekend was still a positive one. Subject to confirmation, I have finished 2nd in the Melbourne Raceway Junior Championship.

After the accident I had back in July, I am incredibly proud to have come back, completed the championship, and finished the season so strongly. At one point I wasn't even sure I'd be back racing, so this result means a lot to me.

Now there's just one event left in my 2026 season – the Straightliners National Championship at Santa Pod. I'm looking forward to giving it everything I've got and ending the season on a high.

What a fantastic way to finish Elvington Speed Week!

Sunday was a much better day for me. I started the morning ready to go with a great tailwind on the runway. Riding my Kawasaki AR80cc, I made a few steady runs throughout the day, gradually building up speed, and finished with a top speed of 91.214 mph, with a two-run average of 90.504 mph.

I'm absolutely delighted to say I have set another UKITA Land Speed Record! 🏁💨

Breaking and setting land speed records is something I am really passionate about. After my accident in July, I honestly didn't think I'd be competing at this event, but I was determined to give it my best. To come away with another record on my Kawasaki AR80cc makes all the hard work, recovery, and determination worthwhile.

We would also like to wish Graham Sykes and The Steam Rocket Bike Team all the very best. Unfortunately, their week didn't go to plan, and we'd like to wish Phil Wood Wood a speedy recovery. We hope to see you back doing what you do best very soon.

I'm all set up here at Elvington Airfield for the Straightliners Speed Week!

Unfortunately, the wind has been a little too strong for me today, but it's been a massive advantage for the big machines. They've put on some fantastic runs, and it's been great to watch.

Hopefully tomorrow brings a lighter tailwind so I can get out there and break even more records.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow! 💪🏁

Just a little update on my hand injury from my accident back in July.

I was back at the hospital yesterday, and everything is healing really well. I still have the splint on the finger that was degloved, but the doctors are very happy with how it's recovering.

I'm now allowed to take the splint off for a couple of hours each day to do some exercises, which is another positive step forward. My little finger is also almost 100% healed, apart from the nail.

It's been a long journey, but I'm making great progress. Thank you to everyone for all the support and encouragement—it really does mean a lot.

Hopefully, I'll be back to full strength before too long.

Melbourne Raceway Round Update

This was my second race meeting since my accident in July, and without doubt the hardest weekend I've ever had at the track.

Mentally, I found it really difficult to get back on the bike. It took me all day on Saturday just to get myself onto the start line. To make matters worse, the bike wouldn't start first thing, but thanks to a bit of help from everyone, we soon got it sorted.

On Saturday afternoon, I eventually made it to the line and completed a couple of steady runs. It wasn't easy, but I did it.

Sunday wasn't much different. I still wasn't in the right mindset, but I knew I had to keep pushing through the fear. After a few rain delays, qualifying was completed, and once again I found myself up against William in the final.

I'll be honest—I nearly didn't race. My head just wasn't in the right place. But after some great advice and encouragement from a few close friends, I made my way to the line. I took off at a steady pace and brought the bike home safely to finish second, with William taking the win. Congratulations, William!

This weekend has been one of the toughest and most challenging I've faced. My mind has been all over the place, but I'm determined to beat these feelings and get my confidence back every time I roll up to the start line.

Next up is Speed Week on a different bike, and I'm feeling positive. Hopefully, we can chase a few records—time will tell!

Well, that's my drag bike off to David Taylor for a full assessment following my accident.

Hopefully the damage isn't too bad, but I have every faith in the master, David Taylor.

If anyone can get it back to its best, he can.

A big thank you to everyone who came to see me at the Mathewsons Live Show this weekend. It was fantastic to meet so many people and chat with everyone who showed such a great interest in the sport I love.
