Update on the pond.

As people know the pond suffer a massive ammonia spike at the start of the first lockdown. For some reason the environment agency where unable to attend site until a few months ago so I had to run some water tests myself which pointed to the issue coming from within bradford councils water 200m upstream so I contacted the council but they were unwilling to take any action due to the environment agency not been able to advise them what to do.
This resulted in 55 carp between 4lb and 18lb dying.
The environment agency have been out on 4 occasions over the last couple of months on there first visit they tested the councils water and the ammonia level was 31.4 they said they had never seen a reading as high.
They did there report and sent me there findings they said the ammonia was more than likely coming from an algea bloom in the councils water but because they weren't able to attend site at the start of the lockdown they can't be 100% (bull s**t).
This is where things get even better, because the environment agency cant say 100% that its the councils water causing the issue then there not willing to do anything about it not even test there water on a regular basis.
I took this to a stage 2 complaints within the council and despite all the evidence I had including all the lies they had told trying to pass the book the verdict came back as a f**k you Rob the environment agency cant be 100% so we are doing nothing about it i even offered to maintain there water but they just ignored me.
To put it in a nut shell for me to do anything else about it I'd have to take them to court at a cost of around 50k.
In my opinion the council and environment agency p**s in the same pot.
I've done everything I can including going to the local paper and the angling mail.
The months of work that went on last year was basically all for nothing and its back to the beginning.
The water levels are now back to how they should be and I am looking at restocking but it won't be with the same size fish as what was lost with everything that's going on in the world I just simply can't afford. I will keep people updated once I have a plan in place.
The pictures below are what the pond looked like a year ago and what it looked like 2 months ago when all the algea from the councils water washed down into the pond

Email I've sent to Bradford council tonight and also the environment agency's reply to me 2 days ago for why they still cant come out and do a simply water test on private land even tho we can now go to f**king primark anyone who can tag Bradford council in this then do so as I cant anymore 😂 I am beginning to question why we actually pay our rod and line licence too.
Bradford council your a joke and the Environment Agency your not far behind them I thought you were there to help us obviously I was wrong

I'd just like to say thank you to everyone I've been overwhelmed by all the support I've received

I'd like peoples honest opinion on this as I dont want to come across as I am begging.

What do you think to me doing this as I can see the issue with the council taking a long time to resolve as the environment agency still say they cannot attend site.

If I was to do a fund raiser half for Marie curie and half towards restocking the pond would be all done through the right channels with Marie curie.
something like coast to coast on the push iron or walk ben nevis. All existing memberships would be carried over to next year and on the 1st and 15th of each month for a year I will do a draw for a free 24hr session for those who have donated (if they want adding to the draw. I can afford to stock the pond with small fish but I'd have to leave them for possible 4 years that's not what people want.
I just cant afford at this moment in time to restock the size of fish we have lost.

Just to give people an update especially members I've submitted a formal letter to the council on friday (well email since everyone is at home) with a complete log of events phone calls emails etc and all the evidence I have, this is what I was advised to do.
They have 21 days to reply so I will keep everyone informed.
Thanks for your support

After reading the government document today it does say that we can fish.
So from weds am going to open the pond back up.
It's going to be for 3 anglers only no guests no leaving the pond, there will be 3 places to fish from top of the pond the middle and the bottom bank.
Everyone is aware of the s**t I've been through these last 8 weeks and the case is still ongoing with the council.
For the past 2 weeks ish the fish seem to be back on the move the small fry are moving about.
As you are aware I've lost fish over the past 2 months and the reason I have decided to allow people to fish is I'd like to know the condition of the stock that's left I wont allow people to pile bait in a small pva bag or a couple of freebies over the top is all I will allow as the last thing I want is the ammonia level going back up. Anyone seen pilling bait in will be asked to leave.
All rubbish must be taken home there is a bin there but please dont use it.

A maximum of 24hrs per angler 9am till 8.30am the following day. I know your losing half hour but this is so we have no more than 3 people at the pond at once.

People just wanting to fish the day will be 9am till 7pm.

The first 24hrs of booking will go to the members (as from now) then it will be open to day tickets on a strict pre booking only dont just turn up and expect to fish. at this moment in time I wont be selling any memberships.

I will just warn people after everything that's happened if your expecting to bag up then I suggest you book somewhere else it's not going to be easy and I expect it to be that way for a long time yet.

Cheers Rob
