Our U15's were back at it with our first home game on the 3G yesterday afternoon 💪🏻

Due to re-arrangements and bank hols we had a few gaps in the calendar, so we joined forces with our U16's for a couple of friendlies with Farnley and Siddal. We've seen some great displays of rugby and the girls have enjoyed the challenge at an older age group, it's given them a real boost as we go into the 2nd half of the season!

With that we welcomed Culcheth to East Bierley on what was probably the hottest day of the year and with no subs available the team were up for another challenge.

The tough opposition started strong completing sets and building the pressure, despite Birkys defence being on fire we were finding it tough to get out of our half with ball in hand as every single link in their defensive chain hit hard and never faulted.

The tries came in as we tired but after the first water break and a little re-jig Birky went back out like a team on a mission, they got stuck in and stepped it up a level. With ball in hand our forwards started making the meters, Ronnie's scoots backed by Kara & Ebs drives got us ground as Ava's snow collecting kicks started asking questions of Culcheth's super organised side.

A quick snack of watermelon and ice lollies at half time and the Birky girls were good to go again, a shout out has to go the wings and centres who worked tirelessly due to the lightning speed hands on the oppo. I'm not sure I've ever seen a ball span the pitch so quick! And our try saving tacklers of the day Ronnie, Ava and Daisy Todd who had their work cut out but ran blood to water. We could have given every award to the whole team today, as could the oppo ☺️ as he mentioned in his speech they were all fantastic!

Fantastic display from the U12s girls today. Tries a plenty & some solid defence saw four wins out of four. Gelled really well with the Sheffield Girls. Looking forward to tomorrow. 🤍💙❤️💛
