This wasn’t close.
Our women’s crew came to Salford and laid down a marker. Again.
They stormed their heat, hit the final, took the lead from the first few strokes and never gave it back. When the finish line arrived, they were clear ahead and deserved champions.
What makes us so proud isn’t just the performance on race day. It’s what sits behind it.
This result belongs to all of the Sharks women. The ones in the boat. The ones cheering from the bank. The ones recovering from injury. The ones who couldn’t make the race. The ones who pushed each other through winter training, gym sessions, dark evenings and cold mornings on the canal.
Success like this doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built session by session, month by month, by a group of women who continually raise each other’s standards and make each other better.
Sunday’s gold medal was won by the crew that raced. But it was built by every Sharks woman who has contributed along the way.
The whole club is incredibly proud of you all.

What a day for the Sharks at Salford.
Fantastic racing, great competition, and a team performance that everyone should be proud of.
🏆 1st – 200m Women’s
🏆 1st – 200m Mixed
🥉 3rd – 470m Mixed
Three trophies from four disciplines is a brilliant return, but what makes days like this special is seeing the whole club come together. Every paddler, drummer, helm and supporter played their part.
From the first race of the day to the last, the effort, determination and teamwork on display were exactly what being a Shark is all about.
A special mention goes to our women’s crew, who once again showed exactly what they’re capable of, and to every paddler who stepped into a race boat and gave everything for their teammates.
The trophies may be coming home with us, but so are plenty of great memories from another fantastic day on the water.
