I've seen these been called a poor man's Jet Boil before but I don't care. These 750ml titanium pots fit the gas bottle in perfectly, if you go for the smaller gas canister you can also fit the stove into the pot as well.

This system boils 750ml of water in just over 2 minutes. This costs £20 for the pot and £17 for the stove. over £100 LESS than the Jet Boil.

Yesterday was MENTAL. had perfect weather to begin and made good time getting up high into the tops, then it went pair shaped. The leg was playing up and a massive storm was rolling in.

Made a judgement call and dropped down a couple of hundred meters into the lee of the mountain with a good water source for a wild camp then all hell broke loose. 50+ mph winds, torrential rain, I thought the tent was either going to be flattened, or blow away with me in it. I packed everything up at midnight and got head to toe in GoreTex ready for the inevitable sound of snapping poles and tearing canvas then just sat there for hours waiting to self evacuate asap in complete darkness..

Luckily that never happened and the storm passed by half 4 and I finally managed to get some sleep...

Now back in Penrith. Need food and a fu***ng beer after that...

I've got some time off work next week and was planning on heading out into the mountains for some well needed hill time...

I do understand the reasons for the train strikes, It's not about the money as the media will force you to believe, Mainly it's about passenger safety and working conditions but FFS someone break this deadlock...

I need some hill time before i go mad!!!
