Queensbury edge Barkisland by 3 runs 🏏
West Yorkshire Women & Girls Cricket League – Calderdale Indoor League (Div 1)
Sunday 11 October 2026*
Queensbury CC Women's 1st XI 255 (80/5, 12 overs) beat Barkisland Women's 1st XI 252 (72/4, 12 overs) by 3 runs
Another thriller, another win! Queensbury held their nerve once again to take 5 points from a game that went right down to the wire. 😅
🏏 With the bat
Put in to bat after losing the toss, Queensbury posted 80. Kate led the way with 10, including two cracking fours 💥, and Bethan hit the only six of the match on her way to 5. Alice (6*) and Emily (5*) both batted through without being dismissed, with Sophie (5) and Gail (4) also keeping the scoreboard moving.
🎯 With the ball
The team were told before the game that it would be won in the field, and yet again the bowling and fielding proved the difference. 💪 Gail produced the spell of the match, giving away just 3 runs from her 2 overs and picking up a wicket. The last two overs were brilliant: Bethan struck with a key wicket that left Barkisland needing more than a run a ball, and Sophie closed it out with a tidy final over without giving away a single extra. 👏
🧤 In the field
Two wickets in the field turned out to be the deciding margin in a game won by 3. Sharp, focused work from the whole team when it mattered most. 🎯
🌟 Shout-out
A massive shout to Kate, top scorer with two fours in only her second game! 🎉 What a start to her indoor career.
⭐ Star performer: Gail– 2-0-3-1, the best spell of the match, plus 4 with the bat.
Well played, ladies! Two wins by a combined 5 runs. Our nerves might not survive the season, but yours clearly will! 👏
