We’re running a powerful, fully funded youth safety programme this August at Goshukan Karate Academy (BD4) using immersive VR headsets.

This West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership intervention, delivered by Project On Guard, explores real-life decisions around:

Knives | Identity | Peer Influence | Gangs

Each session includes guided discussions to help young people (ages 10–18) reflect, grow, and make safer choices.

We are proud to announce that as part of the Project On Guard initiative, we are now delivering the award-winning Virtual Decisions programme across West Yorkshire.

If you work with young people aged 12 to 18 in schools, youth groups, community organisations or even sports clubs, this is your chance to bring a fully funded 90-minute VR experience straight to your setting.

Goshukan Karate Academy WY More than a dojo, where we build strength, focus, & resilience through traditional karate. From Lil Ninjas, teens & adults, our passionate coaches help you grow in confidence, control, & character. It's not about fighting. It's about becoming your best.

The WHM team recently participated in a dynamic and empowering self-defence training session. The session equipped staff with essential techniques, situational awareness, and confidence. We want to share something truly special, something that melted our heart today! ❤️✨️

This is Rayan one of our Little Ninjas just five years old. Rayan is autistic and currently non-verbal.

We have been supporting him each week with patience, care and encouragement as he settles into our sessions. Last week he said 'Goshukan' (as he will on rare occasions say something out loud) and we were all shocked and almost in tears. This week and after just 3 visits and with no prompts Rayan recreated our academy name and logo completely from memory at home. I mean this is just unbelievable, the detail and all.

His mum was so proud she shared his work with us and we are genuinely moved to see how deeply Rayan has already connected with the dojo
To see the pride on his face as he smiled when he had finshed it and the pride in his mum's voice reminded us why we do what we do 🥰

This was not just about memory
It was about belonging, feeling safe and being part of something bigger.
Imagine what children and young people like Rayan can achieve when we simply believe in them.

We are incredibly proud of Rayan and we are just as proud to support him on his journey with us! 🥋👊🏼
