There is such a thing as a happily ever after story and Lyndon and Laura are the proud owners of a professional Scholar 🥳

A massive congratulations to Charlie Brier who has secured a scholarship at league 1 club Blackpool .

Charlies story is full of ups and downs after joining us 4 years ago he came in with bags of confidence and goalkeeping talent and subsequently was fast tracked to our older groups also playing 3 years up in our u18s.

After a couple of unsuccessful trials last season Charlie half resigned Himself to a future of educating and part time football when a window 🪟 of opportunity opened up and Sheffield United academy offered him the chance to spend pre season with them.

After showing up well in his 1st 2 weeks he was invited to go on pre season tour with their 18s and 21s and ended up staying with them the whole of preseason.

Come the start of Sheffield United u18s season he found himself on the bench for the youth team against Ipswich and after 30 mins found himself between the sticks due to the keeper getting sent off he finished the game on the pitch in a 3.1 win.

After spending another month with the cat 2 academy his performances earned him a number of possibilities and Blackpool were quick to pounce on the young stopper and offer him a 2 year scholarship.

Congratulations Charlie you have shown unbelievable resilience , dedication , professionalism and determination to reach your goal and we are all proud of you at akidemy

Congratulations to our 103rd academy signing Sophia Kearns , Ben Kearns

This little dynamo joined us 1 year ago as an u7s and hit the ground running , allot of credit goes to shelf u9s boys team that she played with weekly.

Sophia has attracted interest from both Bradford City and Huddersfield town and has opted for Bradford city although she is still being monitored by Sheffield united girls academy till she is old enough to join Sheffield uniteds elite development program at u11s

✍️ akidemy Pro signing no 6 ✍️ with a sprinkling of extra spice on top

Congratulations to akidemy graduate Tavio Ciccarelli who has had a double whammey of good news after a topsy turvey season at Sheffield united last season.

Tavio not only signed a pro contract at Canadian pro club Halifax Wanderers he has also been called up to the Canadian u20s national team for the upcoming u20s CONCACAF Cup.

After his release from leeds united at the end of his u16s season he was quickly snapped up by premier league club Sheffield united on a 2 year scholarship.

His scholarship was stop start after enduring a couple of injuries and shoulder surgery that limited his opportunities , however back from injury Tavio was called up to canadas u19s World Cup qualifiers squad where he scored a Hat trick on his 1st start that prompted interest from the Canadian outfit who pounced on the opportunity to sign the little fox in the box

Tavio will now take his place in the Canadian squad and we wish him good luck in the u20s CONCACAF from all your The Soccer aKIDemy family go smash it Tav ⚽️

✍️ Akidemy Pro Signing No 5 ✍️

Busy day of announcements today as yet another Akidemy graduate Pens a deal this time Bruno Fernandes who 2 season ago became our 11th aKIDemy’s scholar signing he’s had an unbelievable season as a second year scholar playing up in the u21s and scoring 7 goals for the u21s that narrowly missed out on the national playoffs

It’s an amazing story for this young man that as a really small late developer that was turned away by Leeds united joined our program as an u13 and played up immediately with his outstanding technical ability and tactical understanding.

After a short trial At Sheffield Wednesday he was snapped up at u15s and had 2 successful season before being offered a 2 year scholarship at the then league 1 club.

Fast forwards 2 years and it’s a pleasure to announce his hard work and resilience along with his outstanding football ability rand potential has been rewarded with a professional contact at the now championship club Sheffield Wednesday FC

⚽️ Academy signing 102 ⚽️

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that The Soccer aKIDemy graduate Theo Dufton has been signed by Yorkshire Giants Huddersfield Town
It’s been a rocky roller coaster rider for Theo who was previously signed by Bradford city where things just didn’t click,
Theo made the brave decision to step away from academy football and re invent himself
Back in grass roots where he Could have fun and express himself and be the main man that he is on the pitch.
Theo’s resilience and determination along with the support of Jason Dufton Lisa Bottomley has been rewarded with another shot academy football, an opportunity he will certainly be prepared for this time around .

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Akidemy’s 101st academy signing on our
10 year anniversary is Jake Aye Asiedu

After being told he was not ready for academy football by local club Bradford City Jake joined our program to improve his technical proficiency to bring that in line with his outstanding physical attributes.

And the result of his hard work and resilience along with the quality of our coaching team has resulted in Jake having a successful trail at Burnley and will now join his little brother Eli at Burnley academy
