In tonight's classes we flow through low lunges and pyramid poses to ease and stretch out the calves, hamstrings and lower back, often areas that become tight from lots of sitting, driving and even standing! But if this is an area that is tight for you then go easy on yourself 🙂 There's nowhere to reach to and nothing to achieve apart from a juicy release, which will come the more you relax and the deeper you breathe ✨️

Tonight we will fire up the body to build all-round strength, maybe with a play towards headstand...which can be daunting! But all we need is the willingness to give it a go and play, and a sense of humour!
Strength is a journey and it takes valleys to create peaks. These poses and sequences are here to make you feel fantastic, to challenge you to be the best version of yourself, and to keep you healthy, fit, and beautiful. Rock your practice, and make it yours.
This wonderful practise of yoga is not about mastering the posture, but using the posture to understand yourself and remember how unique and strong you are...if you never try, you never will 💚

Tonights flows are all about getting out of our heads and into our bodies! We will move through a flowing sequence with lots of sweeping side bends, some backbends, and (maybe) some novel postures...all paired with the breath. The sequence will tone up the core, release tension from the hips and shoulders and boost circulation, and these flows will allow us to sweep away any stagnant energy and be open to the potential for change and embracing new perspectives ✨️🙏

Tonight we will play with a fun flow where we will open the chest and upper back and strengthen the core so we can play with wild thing and rockstar and then flow between the two, celebrating the freedom and joy of movement and breath. Finishing with forwards folds and side stretches so we can completely surrender into savasana 💚

This week is Mental Health Awareness week; the theme this year is taking action to improve mental health for ourselves and others. This focus is to help reduce stigma, promote understanding and encourage supporting friends, family and colleagues to create a society that values mental health and provides support.
While awareness is essential, this year’s theme emphasizes practical steps—both small, individual habits and larger community actions—to drive real change. Personally, I have lots of small tools and actions that I draw on to support my mental health. Spending time with loved ones, immersing myself in nature...and even better, both at the same time! The pic is me and my inspirational friend Melissa this week in Malham cove. I love cuddling my pets, singing, creating and crafting, gardening, reading, listening to music...the list is quite long! All these little things can have a significant impact on how I feel and can help me feel grounded and connected.
And of course, there is yoga. My daily practise, including a mindfulness meditation following my breath, is a chance to remember what matters in life. To remember who I am beneath fear and conditioning. Remembering that peace, wisdom and love are not things we need to chase so much as reconnect with. This brings us back into contact with our innate wisdom. Back into contact with life. Back into contact with what really matters 💚
So tonight, we will take action through yoga and we will practise a lovely wholesome flow that allows us to connect with our body and our breath. To remember that, physically & mentally, we are strong and resilient. To remember we are flexible and can adapt to change. To remember that our breath is always a powerful tool we carry with us. That our thoughts, intentions and actions are the foundation of our identity and character and that we can always find something to be thankful for 🙏
Take a small action today to look after yourself, and the people around you, to feel connected and supported ✨️

Our lifestyles often lead us to hunching over devices, a steering wheel, dinner... and this slouching can lead to over-stretched back muscles, a rounding in the chest and a literal pain in the neck!
Tonight, we will focus on backbends; these invigorating postures stimulate the nervous system, increase energy and release emotional tension by cultivating openness.
We will release tightness in the shoulders, chest and quads to improve spinal mobility as we prepare for gradually deeper back bends to strengthen the back and create space all along the front of the body to improve our posture, relieve back pain and energise the mind ✨️💚

It's a wrap! In tonight's flows we prepare-for and explore some traditional postures such as triangle (trikonasana) and side angle (parsvokanasana) and half-moon pose (ardha Chandrasana) with the added extra of a wrapping of the arm to work deeper into the shoulder joint.
These external arm rotations release tension and allow us to floss out any gristle from the nooks and crannies of the shoulder joint. And the resultant expansion across the chest brings us a wonderful feeling of release as we fill ourselves with energy as we take deep breaths.
And as always, there will be some longer holds before rest so we can let go, bliss out and nourish our body and soul ✨️

This gorgeous weather has made me feel more energised and alive! Spring always has a sense of new potential, new beginnings, new energy, new growth.
In tonight's flows we will channel this new energy into cultivating strength and power and reminding ourselves of our well of inner resilience, which is often deeper than we think!
This inner strength is always there; when we tap into this power it can fill us with a sense of equanimity. Reminding us that we can be our own bastions of strength when we face life's challenges.
Ready to feel strong and powerful? We will fire up the core with plank variations, dancing warrior sequence, and some core exercises on our back. But we will move with deliberate intention, moving slowly so we can keep checking-in on the quality of our breath - noticing when we tend to hold and grip and consciously releasing to find a sense of ease and calm even in the face of challenge. Finishing with supported bridge to release the hip flexors before a well deserved relaxation 💚

I have spent the last few days by the sea in Staithes 💙 I love to slow down and be soothed by the simplicity of watching the sun twinkle off the sea. Listening to the (raucous!) seagulls as they prepare to mate and nest on the cliffs. Feeling the bracing breeze mingled with the warm sun on my face. Feeling in awe of the vastness of the sea. Taking deep breaths of beautiful fresh air. All these sensations bringing a feeling of contentment from what is, in the moment. This is enough. Feeling grateful to be able to wrap myself in nature, to feel and appreciate the simple things that bring so much contentment.
I want to bring this sense of being soothed onto the mat tonight as we release tension and create space and comfort. We will wave through our vinyasas and flow through various arm alignments to find those tight spots. Soothing flows will take away the shoulder strain and release the sighs as we unwind and stretch open those creases and kinks and take deep breaths, appreciating these simple sensations that bring contentment 💚
