Dream Art Bradford Brazilian Jiu Jitsu We are a full-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club that offer a wide range of classes for all ages and ability’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art.

Its main principle is taking your opponent to the ground, controlling them and then submitting them with a choke hold or joint lock. It’s a martial art that suited for everyone, regardless of your age, sex, size etc. There are so many benefits to practicing BJJ, some of which are; self defence, flexibility, strength, weight lose, fitness. It teaches you how to problem-solve and over come difficult situations, it teaches you how to stay calm, it gives you confidence, it can improve your balance and co-ordination. Its also great for discipline...the list is endless! The first class is FREE for everyone so come along and see for your self :) We now also run a Beginners Adult class for those who have never tried it before :)

What an amazing first week for our Ladies Only Jiu Jitsu programme! ❤️

15 women on the mats last night! 🙌

We’ve had some fantastic feedback already, and it’s lovely to see the programme getting off to such a positive start.

This is exactly what we hoped to create. A space where women can come together, have a laugh, learn something new, challenge themselves, build confidence and hopefully make some real friendships along the way.

A massive thank you to Holly and all the ladies helping make this happen, and to everyone who’s come along and given it a go. ❤️

One of the most special things about Jiu Jitsu for me is the connection it creates between people.

We live in a world now where we’re probably more connected than ever through phones, social media and technology… but at the same time, I think people are actually becoming more disconnected from each other.

Real human interaction matters.

And there’s something even more powerful about connecting with people through something that challenges you.

You learn together.
You struggle together.
You laugh together.
You get uncomfortable together.
You grow together.

There’s something about doing difficult things alongside other people that creates a different kind of bond. It builds trust. It builds confidence. It builds character. And often, real friendships come from that.

That’s what I want these Ladies Only classes to be about.

Not just learning Jiu Jitsu.

It’s about having a space that feels supportive and empowering. Somewhere you can come in, have a laugh, learn something useful, get fitter, build confidence, learn how to handle yourself and be around other women doing the same.

The first class had such a good energy to it, and watching everyone having fun, helping each other and just enjoying being there was probably my favourite part of it.

That’s the environment we want to build.

Strength & Kindness.

We spoke to the kids about something that happened at school recently.

Two girls fighting… and almost immediately everyone around them gets their phones out to record it.

My question to them was simple:

Where’s the kindness in that?
Where’s the integrity?
Where’s the morality?

Jiu Jitsu teaches you how to become physically capable. Stronger. More confident. Better able to handle yourself.

But strength on its own isn’t particularly impressive.

What impresses me is strength balanced by kindness.

Being capable, but choosing restraint.
Being strong, but looking after people.
Doing the right thing when everyone else is doing something different.

That’s the standard.

And I want our kids to hold themselves to a higher one. ❤️

After the amazing response to our Ladies Only Taster Day, we’re really excited to officially launch our brand-new Ladies Only Jiu Jitsu programme at Dream Art Bradford.

The feedback from the taster session was incredible, but what we loved most was seeing women coming together, having a laugh, supporting each other, trying something completely new and creating such a brilliant atmosphere.

That’s exactly what we want this class to become. ❤️

A place to meet people, make new friends, build confidence, get fitter, learn something new and learn how to handle yourself.

And for that hour, it’s just about YOU.
