General information
Supporting the ethos of up-cycling by creating something new from something unwanted, I have started experimenting with firing glass to make decorative pieces and jewellery.
Coloured Victorian glass will react differently to 1930’s or modern glass, so the results cannot be predicted and I am never certain what I will see when I open the kiln. Even using the same colours does not guarantee the same result!
These are not mass produced items, I can only make them in small quantities, and because they mainly use reclaimed window glass and not specialist warm/fusing glass they contain small imperfections and air bubbles, but this adds to the unique nature of each piece.
