Are we building something special here or what??? The boys have turned in arguably their best performance of the season so far with a huge win over previously undefeated league leaders Moldgreen.

The first half was a close tussle where battle lines were drawn around the middle of the field, our forwards doing well to hold their own with the large Moldgreen Pack. After exchanging 2 tries the sides could not be seperated going in at 10-10.

The second half was a sight to behold with long range attacking rugby on both edges, whether it was the deft skill and offload ability of Calvin Barker on the left, the rampaging running game of Elliot Culling on the right, or the electric pace of Jack Smith, there was threat everywhere and the lads capped off a great performance with a dominant win which sees us move into 4th place 💙💛

This will not go down in the history books as one of the great performances but the lads did what they needed to grind out victory against a tough Thornhill side that simply never make it easy for you.

After defeat in 4 of the first 5 fixtures, the lads have found their groove and are now making big waves in the division, working their way into the top 5. The lads and coaching staff have done an incredible job to work their way up the table and they will look to continue this, when we welcome table toppers Moldgreen to Parry Lane.💙💛

Suffering numerous injuries and unavailability, putting a second team out on a few days notice is a hugely encouraging sign for the club.

We welcomed our neighbours Wibsey. While on another day many will be wondering “what if”
It wasn’t to be our day, despite being ahead in the early exchanges, we simply ran out of numbers against a youthful Wibsey side.

Regardless of the result, it was a brilliant day for the club. Watching some of our promising young players combine with some club legends turning out to help their club in a local derby in front of a packed crowd is something we’ve wanted to bring back to Parry Lane for some time.

As we prepare for more fixtures over the next couple of months, if you have an itch to scratch, whether you’re a young player wanting to have a go at rugby, an older player wanting to see what you’ve got left in the tank or you just want to have a crack at this brilliant game, come and join us and be part of something special 💙💛
