First off, apologies to yoga, pilates, Hyrox, spin and other classes for catching strays here…
They can all be really good for you, for different aspects of fitness… however, they’re NOT going to provide a stimulus to grow muscle
Once you get past about 30, you’re naturally losing muscle each year, for the rest of your life
That’s not only going to impact body shape and strength, later in life, muscle is your biggest storage of glucose, so maintaining/building muscle helps to reduce the risk of type II diabetes and other metabolic issues
This is why strength training at least a couple of times a week should be the foundations of your training… with your choice of yoga, pilates, Hyrox, running, cycling or whatever you enjoy layered on top
Whenever you’re ready to start building well programmed, coach led strength training into your weekly schedule, to see and feel the benefits to your life outside of the gym, drop us a DM and let’s have a chat
