The sun is just about ready to break through the early morning mist. And the forecast is set fair for a great week of golf at Haltwhistle Golf Club. There’ll be a lot of early morning activity tomorrow as our volunteer green keepers make final preparations for our Seniors Open 2 Man Texas Scramble (still a few tee times left) on Wednesday we’ll host week 3 of our Get Women into golf programme attended by 20+ very keen and very competent budding women golfers. On Friday our juniors will have their regular weekly coaching led by our Community Golf Instructors, the turnout gets bigger every week and there’s a lot of young talent there..Plus we’ll have our regular Wednesday and Friday members competitions and our main event members competition on Sunday. Plenty of space through the week for visitors. Come and join us. You’ll be amazed by the course, and the views!!

This is the 8 who played in today’s final round of Tyne Valley League matches. A 3 games to 1 win over Tynedale GC meant we won the league and retained the trophy for another year. A big shout out to all of the other players who got us through earlier rounds. Also massive thanks to the members of Tynedale, Allendale and Alston Moor golf clubs who have made this a fantastic competition for the second year running. Roll on next year, but first we have the final fixture of this season 2 weeks today hosted by Allendale GC, here’s hoping for a big turnout.

The course is looking fantastic in the early morning sunshine!!! Look at how green those fairways are. A big shout out to our Secretary Sheila Gibson for organising our “Get into Golf - putting and Prosecco evening last night. A fantastic turnout of over 20 ladies attended and all seemed to have great fun and showed some amazing skills. The first in a series of 6 events. As a small club we are very proud to be selected by England Golf to run this programme and couldn’t wish for better support from the ladies from in and around Haltwhistle. Looking forward to seeing you all next week.

Last night 20 Ladies joined our Women into Golf event and it was a great success. See you all next week for Chip Dip and Sip night
