Brampton Bowls Club

Our Club triples competition was held last Saturday with the winners..C.Robinson, C.Izon & A.Grant. Runners up were C.J Roy, C.Maclagan & D.Murray. Well done to them and everyone else that took part.
On Thursday it was the ladies championship final between Pam Wood & Linda Lewis with Pam coming out the winner.
Saturday saw us take a team to Prudhoe for our last friendly of the season.
Another great afternoon with our friends and some not so good bowls on a ‘challenging’ green!
Lots going on in the next couple of weeks with semi finals and finals taking place for our Club competitions…check the diary for dates and times.

Interesting fact. If 4 people are drawn together in a team, the chance that exactly 3 of them are drawn together in a random team of 3 from the same 36 players is extremely small — about 1 in 1,785.

Congratulations to our ladies team for winning the Lochinvar league for the 2nd year running. We ended up with 27 out of 30 points only losing to Canonbie on our last game. Well done to Canonbie who were runners up.

Another good week of bowls at the club.
Last Saturday we welcomed President Ernie & his team from Harris park in Cockemouth . It was the first time they had played at Brampton and we had a great afternoon.
On Tuesday we took a team to Langholm New and had another good night.
Our competitions are getting to the final stages and need to be played in the next couple of weeks.
Today we had the 1st final …ladies handicap. It was played between Linda Lewis & Pam Wood with Linda coming out the winner after 29 ends!
It was a great match with both players playing some excellent bowls.
On Saturday we have our club triples…it’s a one o’clock start & forecast to be slightly cooler than today!

Good luck to President Nigel playing in the Champion of Champions at Whitehaven today.

A great weekend at the club. Saturday.. we welcomed a team from Port Carlisle and had a good afternoon with them.This afternoon we were hosts to a team from Hexham Elvaston . It was great to see the green full and good to see new players on both teams having a go. Both days we managed to stay dry and finished off with a delicious tea and good craic.
