Corries U12s vs Talgarth U11s

A cagey start from the boys yesterday struggling to link up and get a hold of the game but after 10mins of play we found the back of the net.
As the game went on the boys grew more confident and played some fantastic football resulting in the mercy rule being called after around 50mins of play.
A couple of the lads getting their first hat-tricks of the season.

What was nice was that the referee commended our boys on their sportsmanship and attitude on the pitch after the game which is what it’s all about 👏

🔴⚪ CORRIES U14s | MATCH REPORT 🔴⚪

A hugely difficult first game of the season for our U14s, away against one of the favourites for the league — a team made up largely of Year 9 players — and our Corries side playing their first ever game on a full-size pitch, with a squad full of Year 8s.

The boys defended resolutely throughout, with a standout performance from Kornel, who marshalled the defence brilliantly.

Only a wonder strike from distance was able to beat Daridus in goal, giving the home side a 1–0 lead going into half-time.

The whole squad worked incredibly hard throughout the second half, defending with pride, passion and determination to keep us within touching distance.

When we settled on the ball, our passing patterns through the thirds were really promising and showed exactly what this group is capable of.

Then came a fantastic Corries moment…

⚡ Jackson produced a mazy run down the wing before delivering a perfect pull-back for Tally to finish and make it 1–1!

Unfortunately, the combination of the bigger pitch, the relentless effort and tired legs finally caught up with us, and we conceded late on to lose 2–1.

But the scoreline doesn’t tell the story of the performance.

👏 An absolutely amazing effort from every single player.

🏆 Player of the Match: Daridus — outstanding in goal and thoroughly deserved.

Boys, if you play with that level of effort, pride and passion every single week, I genuinely couldn’t ask for anything more as a coach.

You did yourselves, your teammates and Brecon Corries proud today.

⚽️ Corries U11s ⚽️

Yesterday our Corries U11s took on a very strong Llandod U12s side at Penlan, in what was a huge first step up for our boys into a competitive league format.

From the first whistle to the last, our lads played with heart, determination and togetherness. They never stopped running for the full 70 minutes and, despite facing a strong and physical U12 side, they continued to battle for every ball and give everything they had.

The result may not have gone our way, but as coaches we couldn’t be prouder of every single player.
Most importantly, the boys never let their heads drop — they kept encouraging each other, kept working hard and showed exactly the attitude we want to see.

Yesterday wasn’t just about the result. It was about taking a big step, learning, growing and experiencing what competitive football is all about.

MOTM went to birthday boy Alex Burgess for his incredible footballing skills. 👏

Lovely morning at Penlan yesterday for the first tournament of the 2026/27 season.

First up we faced Talgarth U9/U10s. Corries started well and some lovely passing football saw us take the lead through an audacious (almost indescribable) heel-chip from Jimmy. We continued to play great football but Talgarth equalised and then took the lead. We couldn't find a way past the superb Talgarth keeper.

Next up were Builth U9s. Corries were more solid and - despite a little too much ball watching and lack of pressing - proved too much for the younger team.
Thanks to an excellent Richie goal.

Lastly we faced Crickhowell U9s. Corries were back to their best, passing and moving together, not giving Crick time on the ball.
Goals coming from Evan and Alfie but I have to mention the Crickhowell goal, a superb long range screamer!

We need to do some work on our shooting and corner taking, but overall very happy with the way we've started!

U9s had a good start to their season yesterday and it was good to be back out playing again.
A mixed bag of results but the boys all had fun being back with their friends.
