ππ Bridgend Knights Veterans Touch Tournament 2026 β Match Report ππ
Firstly, a huge well done to all the players who represented Bridgend Knights in our annual Veterans Touch Rugby Tournament this evening.
This was the third year we've run the competition, bringing together some of the best veterans touch teams from across South Wales. As always, the standard was high, the games were competitive, and everything was played in fantastic spirit.
The Knights produced some excellent touch rugby throughout the evening, recording two victories in the group stages, including a bonus point win over the Rhondda Raptors. Those results saw us finish 2nd in our group and secure a place in the Plate Final.
In the final, we faced Maesteg Quinns Vikings Despite taking an early lead, we were edged out in a closely contested match, eventually falling short 2-1
A special mention goes to "The Silver Bullet" who crossed for two tries assisted by Rob Coles and Max Padfiled, whilst Max Padfield also helped himself to three tries over the course of the tournament ending up our top try scorer.
Credit goes to every player who pulled on a Knights shirt tonight. The rugby was excellent, and every game was played in the right spirit.

Tonight our Knights Squires stepped up to play a 60 Minute training game against the Wales 35's squad.
This was an excellent opportunity for our young squires team to play against a solid opposition and they didn't disappoint, their speed, transitions and general handling skills were excellent. Their work on defence was solid especially against a team that was using multiple types of transitions something that our squires wouldn't have faced to date in the League and Cup game they have played in this season.
We would like to thank the Wales 35s team and wish them good luck at the Euros the young squires that played and their parents.
This was another great showing for The Knights Squires, our coaching team is extremely proud of how well they are developing as players and young men, growing Into the game more and more every week! And playing with Smiles on their faces! π
Thanks to Laura Hemming for the great πΈ
We all can't wait to see what the future holds for this young team.
