🎉 MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO CORREY AND LOGAN! 🎉

Give it up for our newest SSI Advanced Open Water Divers! 🤿💦

We had the absolute best weekend putting these two through their paces at Vobster Quay. The weather was absolutely beautiful and if you closed your eyes between surface intervals, you would’ve sworn we were abroad! ☀️🌴

Correy and Logan smashed through 5 training dives over the weekend, expanding their skills and crushing every challenge:

Day 1: Perfecting Buoyancy, having fun with underwater Navigation and exploring the Wrecks. They also experienced limited Visibility and and went through DSMB deployment.

Day 2: We jumped into the Deep Dive and Nitrox training.
All dives through the weekend based on a foundation of safe diving practices with controlled descents and safe slow ascents.

The visibility up top started out a bit poor, but honestly? It made for a fantastic, fun training environment to simulate night and limited visibility diving. Real-world skills right there!

But the reward came on Day 2 when we dropped down to 30 meters. Once we got below 15 meters, the visibility opened up beautifully, giving us a lovely minimum of 6 meters of clear water to enjoy. 🐠✨

Both of them performed exceptionally well all weekend and handled the depths like absolute pros.
They are officially certified and 100% ready for their upcoming dive trip to Egypt! 🇪🇬

They’ll be joining Elite diving and the crew for what is bound to be an epic dive holiday.

🌊🦈Unexpected Citizen Science at Lundy Island! 🌊🦈

While the team at Divexplore headed out to Lundy over the weekend with one main goal; diving with the iconic playful seals, nature had a few pleasant surprises in store for us.

As every diver knows, the best plans are the ones that stay flexible. While exploring, we came across an abundance of shark egg cases, affectionately known as Mermaid’s Purses.
We couldn't pass up the chance to contribute to vital marine conservation, so we shifted gears to collect and log this data for the Shark Trust.

"In diving, conditions and opportunities change constantly, so we just went with the flow!"

🦭Atlantic Grey Seals: A playful colony of over 200 seals that frequently interact with divers.

🐬Safeguarding the Ecosystem🐬

To ensure this unique environment thrives for generations to come, Lundy is heavily protected as a Marine Protected Area (MPA).

Notably, it features a 4 square kilometer "No Take Zone." This strictly protected area safeguards marine wildlife and heritage while allowing local fish stocks to recover and the entire habitat to flourish naturally.
