⛳National Success for Bridlington Aces⛳
Eight-year-old Bridlington Golf Club member George Rowell has won his second Wee Wonders British & Ireland Championship, earning himself another shot at the World Finals at Pinehurst in America next year.
George finished runner-up at last year’s World Finals and will now be hoping to go one place better.
Having won his first Wee Wonders title in 2024 and then tied for first place in 2025, only to finish second on countback, George, was again competing in the Boys 7/8 category.
Playing at Gullane Golf Club in Scotland, he played some exceptional Golf and returned Scores of 36 (one over par) & 33 (2 under Par) to secure his second Wee Wonders title winning by three shots.
It wasn’t a case of just one National Champion, but double success for Bridlington Golf Club, when another junior member, 10 year old, Harry Mitchell produced a display of composure and consistency, to capture the Boys 9/10 category at Gullane Golf Club, delivering a commanding performance over two days of high-stakes competition.
Facing a talented field, Harry set the pace early with disciplined course management and sharp tee-to-green play. He opened the tournament with a composed 1-over-par round of 73, positioning himself second on the leaderboard, two off the lead, heading into the final day.
Showing steady nerves under fire, Harry matched his day-one score with a second consecutive 73. His 36-hole total of 2-over-par sealed a hard-earned victory and secured the Wee Wonders trophy.
By capturing the title, Harry also earns a coveted invitation to play in the World Championships next summer at the iconic Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
