Sweyer

On my way to the racecourse carboot sale. That was fun!

Coming back from the racecourse carboot and these lovely beings greet me as I come back. They took a special interest in the Swayer and eventually sniffed out the fruits I bought from the carboot. I couldn’t help but share them.

Well that was fun. When we see something we’ve never seen before, our mind often stops to take in the new thing. We break out of autopilot, even if it’s for a split moment. Perhaps this is when we see a new view of a natural scenery, a new city we’ve never seen before or just a new invention. These are moments that can liberate us from the constant noise of our minds. With the Swayer I don’t just get to experience the liberation from the mind by seeing the world from a whole new angle but I also get to see people’s “mind stopping” moment as I pass by them with something they would have never seen before. That’s the magic of the Swayer.

Beyond the making process and the ideas of a potential business from this product, seeing and hearing how people feel after using the Swayer is highly motivating.

There is yet much to be proven but one of my hypothesis that I strongly believe in is that the Swayer will be a wondrous possession for those struggling with poor mental health. I believe it will do this by leading it’s rider to become fully alert and present when they are riding the Swayer and activate many more of their senses compared to our average daily lives mostly spent on screens.

Computers were revolutionary to convey and process information but they have now become more than that and have become many poeple’s lives. But what a waste of a life if we aren’t actually using all of our senses and our real world surroundings to feel fully alive.

Prototype testing and interviews carrying on. I have 10 so far that I have recorded. With the help of this prototype and getting it tested, the Swayer is developed with careful consideration of each feedback testers give.

So far, the main insight is that this is a product people would use mainly for leisure at holiday destinations, parks, forrests and by the beach. This was an insight I was speculating but there were many more insights that were uncovered through this testing and interviewing process.

First ride at Queen’s Park Brighton. It was amazing gliding through the green area and by the waters.

One of the main advantages of riding at such a low level is the ability to say hello to all the dogs you pass by. I’ve had dogs bump heads with me and some dogs lick my face. Some of the best moments I have had on the Swayer!
