Weekly update
39 days and 29.40 km done
49 days and 58.60 km to go
4 swims this week, froze yesterday and only managed 1km as I was just getting too cold and then this morning I was still tired. So lost my slack!
Still on plan and might take my wetsuit to the Sea Lanes next time so I can
Swimming for Alzheimer's Research UK in honour of my grandmother.
This is a picture from my last trip to see her, even though she didn’t consciously recognise me, she knew who I was, some connections are deeper than just memories ❤️ ❤️

Although I much rather see how we can prevent it altogether 😉

Weekly update
Day 32 - 56 days to go
23.80 km done - 64.20 km to go
Slightly ahead on my plan which is great!!!
A couple of evening swims at Sealanes, the new 50m pool on the seafront in Brighton
Another failed attempt at getting Petra to swim - we established that she calls the Lido the night before and asks them to throw a spanner in the works 😂 so we went for a walk and brekkie!

Day 25 - 63 days to go
18.20 km done - 69.80 km to go
Due to lack to time, I had to increase the daily mileage and it’s been ok. I managed to fall into a trance state today as I swam. It was kinda cool 😎
Getting an awesome tan ☀️ too early to get burnt

This challenge is more than just swimming, hopefully I can share some information about how to prevent Alzheimer's. At least what we know, which unfortunately is very little.
Current research suggests that keeping a healthy lifestyle can help preventing it. What does that look like? Check out the advice below and see what your brain health is like.
Think Brain Health - Alzheimer's Research UK Think Brain Health is an ongoing celebration of everything our amazing brains do for us and a guide to the simple things we can do to protect them in return.

Yesterday’s swim was a fast one as I wanted to get 1.2km before they kicked me out of the pool 😅😅
Today it was a much more relaxed and slow session. I had a great buddy - thanks Hannah ❤️ and with only 4 hours of sleep, I was just happy to make the distance.

11 days done - 77 days to go
8 km done - 80 km to go
Definitely some interesting tan lines developing 😂

Day 9 - 6km done
Looked for every excuse in the bag I could use not to swim today! It was windy and grey. I just didn’t feel like getting cold.
And then at 8:45 when I finished my coffee after yoga, my motivation gave me a kick on the back side 😅 and I was out heading to the pool.
The water was “warm” and by the time I had done 15 lengths, I thought: “yeah 30 lengths, no worries” 😇😇
For the record I just went up and down one lane but obviously my watch seems to have taken a different route 🤪🤪

End of week 1: 4.8km of swimming and £125 raised.
Back in the pool after a couple of dry days. Increased the distance to 1.2km already and it has only been a week since I started. So feeling good!
Also have a new system for keeping count of my lengths as my watch is definitely not cooperating 🤨
