I want to wish you a truly lovely Christmas break: I hope you’re able to spoil yourself and get spoiled rotten by others. May 2026 bring you one step closer to your deepest dreams, and provide you with so much happiness and success (whatever success means for you in this chapter of your journey).
A huge and sincere thank you to everyone who trusted me this year to be your coach and your companion through this work: surely the most difficult journey we ever embark on. It never stops being an honour to do this work, and I don’t take your trust and commitment for granted. Thank you.

This week I've been following the updates from Joanna Macy's family as she neared the end of her life. Deeply touching, and a beautiful modelling of how death can be a thing we experience together.
She passed away a couple of days ago, as her family sang to her. My heart is aching with the sadness and beauty of it.
I've been grateful for my Work That Reconnects learning group, we've spoken quite a lot this week about our feelings.
Such a counterpoint to the state of the world right now...

Dear Brighton...
A part of my heart will always be here, and maybe one day my search will see me living here full time again.
Strolling the laines
Hanging out in cool bars and coffee shops
Working with clients in person
Parties on the beach
That sense that everyone is welcome here (except fascists!)
But for now, I feel called to keep searching for belonging. The world is unravelling at an ever greater rate: I'm no longer prepare to wait for my needs to be met. I want to feel seen and recognised in a community of open-hearted people; people who feel the momentous depth of this time in history, but who remain present, caring and committed to doing what they can.
Where is that? I don't know yet. But the search is hugely important to me.
In the mean time: I'll visit you whenever I can. You're gorgeous: I'm gonna keep this connection alive!

We worked around the clock to get Happiness in Motion (Arete Book 3) onto shelves in time for Christmas - and it's out now! Available worldwide from your country's Amazon store.
Inside, you'll find...
✨ How psychological healing actually happens, how to notice when your wounds are making your choices for you, and how we self-regulate.
✨ We all have the potential for lifelong learning: gaining new insights, unlocking better ways to live, redefining our career prospects, becoming better partners, friends or parents. Why wouldn’t you want to keep getting better and better? With the Growth Cycle, I offer a structured way to approach this, including the pitfalls that my clients have encountered over the years.
✨ A long list of ‘microlessons’ (pieces of advice that I often find myself giving to coaching clients).
✨ Once we’ve done ‘the work’, and older forms of joy, happiness and entertainment begin to feel empty, how do we find better ways to restore ourselves?
✨ An introduction to The Metacrisis (the way in which everything around us seems to be unravelling, all at once) and how you can make sense of it.

Sevilla was a stopover between Norway and my writing retreat on Lanzarote. Just a few days to catch some winter sun and warm my bones after those short, cold Norwegian days.
What a lovely city! I'll definitely go back. I got intriguing glimpses into the local culture, and the cathedral was proper mind-blowing.

After Istanbul, I flew to Rome and then took a train up through Italy to the cute little city of Padua. I wanted to visit somewhere in Northern Italy that was off the beaten track, and Padua fit the bill.
Padua is lovely. Winding cobbled streets, little piazzas with friendly cafes, pretty canal-side houses, good espresso (a must for me, obvs) and a really impressive cathedral. I was there in the early autumn so there were also some beautiful autumn colours.
I was in Padua for my penultimate writing retreat of 2024, working on Arete book 3. For 3 days I made no progress at all, despite staring at the page all day (which is a huge deal when you only have a week to write most of a book!) until at 4am one day I sat bolt upright in bed with a breakthrough. I got up, drew some diagrams and began to realise what this book would really be about. It surprised me! I'm so excited to get it finished and share it with you all...
