CHAMPIONS: Hove win 2024 Parks League title.

“To all Parks club secretaries and committee members: I just need to share the sad news that Cy Pollard, our club captain at D**e for as long as we can remember, passed away last night. He was surrounded by many of his family members in the Martlets hospice.
“Cy had a huge appetite for tennis and devoted so much of his time and energy to D**e and the B&H Parks leagues. Our club has flourished under his leadership with ever increasing membership, coaching opportunities and significant improvements in our standards of play !
“He will always be a legend for us at D**e. I’m sure that many of you can recall his competitive spirit and determination to avoid conceding any matches !
He will be sorely missed – RIP CY.”

Congratulations to Seb Puga on making it to the final of the 2023 County Cup mens singles competition, held at Southdown Tennis Club in August. This competition, run by Tennis Sussex, is open to all the best male players in the county. Seb narrowly lost to a top local junior (dare we say, half his age?) in a memorable final. Seb also won the BHPLTA Parks Cup singles competition in July.

FRED PERRY TOURNAMENT AT HOLLINGBURY: The tournament this year is taking place across the first two weekends in September with the Regionals on Saturday 2nd & 3rd and the finals taking place the following weekend Saturday 9th & 10th September. Please contact the club to find out more

*PARKS CUP FINAL DAY:* Join us for the annual Parks Cup Finals Day, held at Queens Park Tennis Club, on *Saturday 22 July*, from 1pm. See all the finals of this year’s knock-out competition: mens and ladies singles, mens and ladies doubles, mixed doubles and veterans mixed doubles. The Parks Cup, established in 1930, is for Parks League players, and Finals Days is always one of the most enjoyable days of our local tennis calendar. The Queens’ clubhouse and bar will be open throughout for food, drink and ice-creams.
