A chilly morning at for a “Giving Back” session. Marking 1 year working with the QECP on delivering skills coaching sessions, we ran a skills clinic to coincide with a planned ride-out hosted by the park. Varied mixture of bikes and abilities provides a great test for coaches to deliver fun and engaging sessions. Breaking down perceptions, reframing the challenges and seeing the results is hugely rewarding. , chicken wings for adults and T-rex for kids.
Winner winner chicken dinner 🤣🤣🤣. 4 season DTE bib pants absolutely spot on in pretty horrid conditions for last 20mins.

Blue skies, warm sun, have we finally turned a corner? Winter for all types of cyclists has been pretty grim, especially in the South East. The South Downs has been a mixture of claggy mud and slippery chalk.
Normally the Sixtyseven70 swap the South Downs for the Surrey Hills over the winter months, however AW25/26 has been particularly challenging.
Ahead of upcoming -road events we ventured up to the Peaslake area to see how well the trails have held up.
Due to the largely sandy soil type, after a couple of days of no rain and sunny weather the off-road trails were in great shape, with very little post ride cleanup required.
Over 50% of the available Friday’s from mid April until October now have bookings. late June and early July have availability as does the Autumn.
We look forward to welcoming back guests from 2025, and showcasing the area to first time guests in late Spring.
For the adventourous, there is still time to come and try “Night Riding” with from the Hurtwood Hideout on the 6th & 20th March.

Table Tops and Jumps from Wednesdays Queen Elizabeth Country Park - Hampshire County Council MTB Skills Session.
Working with Yann on the "Compress and Release" to get the feeling of the bike going light as the front wheel meets the lip of the slope.
It's all in the timing and both wheels just about get off the ground. The Skills and Coaching areas at QECP provide the perfect environment to break down the coaching points and provide video feedback.
Finally Yann asked to be filmed on the Blue Trail Jump we had ridden a couple of times.
As British Cycling Coaches, having access to these types of facilities improves the rate of improvement and increases the enjoyment.

Great customer feedback from this weeks MTB Fundamentals session at QECP.

Back at QECP today with a last minute coaching session for Yann who contacted us yesterday. Pretty much had the skills / coaching area and trails to ourselves. An established cyclocross and gravel rider, Yann added MTB to the skill set and wanted some 1:1 coaching on the basics.

Every 3 years our MTB leaders and coaches have to have up to date outdoor first aid training. Covering 16 hours they learn the most up to date techniques from front line paramedics. This is why we choose as our go to provider.
