BIG SUMMER CLEAN-UP

immediately after Junior Parkrun on Sunday, 26th July there’ll be a BIG Summer clean-up in Queen’s Park.

Sign-up outside the Queen’s Park Tennis Clubhouse from 10:30.

Protective gloves, litter pickers and other tools will be provided.

All children attending will get free biscuits and fruit juice. It is expected that the session will end around 12:30.

The rescheduled date for Bark in the Park 2026 is Saturday, 26th September. The Coastway Vets tent will be opening up for registrations at 11am with the winner of Best in Show scheduled to be announced around 4pm.

All money raised gets ploughed back into the maintenance of the park.

BARK IN THE PARK POSTPONED

- rain and blustery winds forecast for Saturday

With the weather forecast predicting rain and blustery wind for much of Saturday, the Friends of Queen’s Park have reluctantly decided to postpone its annual community dog show, Bark in the Park.

An announcement of a new date will be made as soon as possible.

There’s still time to polish up your canines’ best trick and sharpen up their sausage catching skills. They’ll need to be at the top of their game for Bark in the Park taking place in the dog area of the park on Saturday, 6th June. The Coastway Vets registration tent opens at 11am. All funds raised will go towards the maintenance and improvement of the park.

BARK IN THE PARK

It’s almost that time of year again. Dubbed ‘Less Crufts & More Scruffs’ Bark in the Park, the family-friendly fun dog show, takes place on Sunday, 25th May.

Registration for all the classes kicks off at 11 o’clock in the Coastway Vets tent. The event will conclude with the much-anticipated announcement Best in Show, which will be decided at 3:15pm.

All funds raised go towards the maintenance of the park.

The Annual General Meting of the Friends of Queen’s Park will take place on Thursday, 16th January. Starting at 7pm, it will take place in the clubhouse of Queen’s Park Tennis Club.

All are welcome to attend and any member of the local community interested in putting themselves forward for election to serve on the committee should email: [email protected] no later than 5pm on Wednesday, 15th January.

Queen’s Park Junior Parkrun kicks off this morning at 9am. Be there early to register. 91 runners completed the course last week - it’s bound to be even more today!

TODAY’S THE DAY!

Bark in the Park, the popular community dog show, takes place in the dog area of Queen’s Park today.

The headline sponsor Coastway Vets registration tent opens at 11 o’clock with the first class, the Cutest Puppy, kicking off at noon.

The event will end with the Best in Show at 3:30.

All profits will go towards the maintenance of the park.
