Where it all began... 🌳
I was back on the Warwick University campus this week for a conference, and I couldn't resist an early morning stroll down memory lane.
It’s amazing how much can change! The space where I attended my very first Tai Chi class is now actually part of the library. The trees have grown tall, and the old roads are now peaceful pedestrian zones.
Walking through those grounds made me realize just how fortunate I’ve been to find this wonderful art. It’s been my greatest tool for navigating "this thing we call life."
Whether you’re just starting your journey or have been practicing for years, remember: every student turned teacher started exactly where you are today—perhaps in a spot that’s now a library! 📚✨

Walking the south coast path in Falmouth, delving into Pendennis Castle's mysteries and having a close call with stray golf balls on a sunny Spring day. Happy Easter.

What a week! Reflecting on our first Tai Chi day course of 2026 at the Kings Heath club. ⏳
Teaching these longer sessions is always a highlight for me. It gives us the time to really break down the mechanics and feel the breath move through the form. ☯️
The dedication from the Birmingham students last week was inspiring—the atmosphere in the club was pure focus. 🧿
If you missed this one, don't worry—we’re just getting started. There will be another course later this month hosted by and one in March in . 🔥

I attended a tai chi and tai chi weapons course over the weekend. Here are some pics of the tai chi staff form. The staff is a 6ft straight stick commonly made from hardwood. The weight of the staff shifts our centre, it gives extra momentum to follow and highlights when our stances are unbalanced. It also expands awareness and projection of qi and you or intention.
There will be more opportunities to practice tai chi weapons at next term's courses and during Easter 2026 one week course.
