I do not have the words to describe quite how proud I am of this young swimmer, but I’ll try!

She arrives at swimming lessons with a huge smile on her face every week, even after operations and knees that are shredded!!

She always chooses the hardest challenge in lessons and demonstrates the most incredible determination positive mindset.

Her sidekicks at this event, were so patient and supportive and actually participated alongside her as a fully inclusive event. Shout out to Matt, Bex, Bro, Acer and Tali

We are so grateful for all your donations and have raised over £1700 already.

The AFK charity rep told me that Ivy had a bike donated to her and now she has paid that forward and raised enough for another child to have a bike of their own. That’s what this is all about, a caring community, enabling not disabling, creating fantastic memories and experiences for all of us.

Tomorrow is the big day!
One of my swimmers Ivy, has learnt to swim and is taking part in a triathlon with family. They aim to raise funds to enable access to equipment and services for people with disabilities.

NEXT WEEKEND IS A BIG WEEKEND!

On 15 August, the Coyne family is taking on a very special triathlon with one of my swimmers Ivy, to raise money for AFK - Working With Disability a charity that helps disabled children and young people gain greater independence through life-changing equipment and support.

If you don’t know her, Ivy is an incredible little girl that Matt first met through his Forest School Kids Adventurist and had the privilege of teaching her and her class mates over the last few years. She’s cheeky, funny, determined and has a smile that lights up every room. Ivy began swimming lessons at Ripples earlier this year and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievements.

Ivy has spina bifida, but she never lets it stop her inspiring everyone around her. She always chooses the most challenging of the options I give her each week in the pool and shows incredible perseverance.

Joining will be Bro, Ace and Tali, who will help Ivy complete the challenge together – a 150m swim, 3km bike ride and 1km wheel/run Superhero Series.
