We have exciting news!
For over 11 years now we've been running a non-profit community bike workshop in central Brighton. Earlier this year we were invited by the council to use some of the rooms in the former St Peter’s school site in Portslade to bring what we do to the local area. We want to revitalise this precious school building, at the heart of this neighbourhood, with activities that bring people together and support them to learn, and share skills around cycling.
Our central workshop off Lewes Road will still be running as normal, but as well as that we will be providing affordable secondhand bikes and free access to tools, parts and advice to help people fix their bikes in Portslade on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 11am-4pm. We hope to expand these opening hours in the future depending on volunteer capacity.
This Thursday and Saturday we will also be running two free beginner mechanics training sessions there from 11am-1.30pm. This is a chance to learn the basics of repairing your bike, from punctures to adjusting brakes, as well as to have a look round our new place. Everyone welcome - booking link in the comments
