What a week it's been at Strike Back self defence Brighton and Hove! 😊
Here's a look back at everything we've been up to since last weekend:
✅ Introduction to Self Defence workshop.
Exactly a week ago, we spent Saturday afternoon at our monthly Introduction to Self Defence workshop.
It was wonderful to welcome so many new faces and watch everyone grow in confidence over the session. Thank you to everyone who came along and we look forward to seeing you at our weekly classes.
📍 A new home in Hove.
Our Tuesday evening Personal Safety and Self Defence classes have moved to Vida Active , the women only studio on Blatchington Road. A huge thank you to the Vida Active team for welcoming us so warmly.
✅ Eastbourne course underway.
We started a new three week Personal Safety and Self Defence course, and the first session was a brilliant reminder that self defence is as much about your voice, your boundaries and your awareness as it is about physical skills.
🤝 Meeting with Cllr Sam Parrott.
I met with Sam, Brighton and Hove's council lead on violence against women and girls, to talk about the city's strategy and how Strike Back can extend its reach and impact across our community. I came away feeling proud of what we've built and excited about what comes next.
📅 New bookings.
We've confirmed a private workshop for a local business, and a November workshop with a local charity supporting young girls. November is now full, with December and January dates still available.
💬 Your feedback.
A lovely message from a mum, who came and trained alongside her daughter, reminded me exactly why I do this.
Since we launched, we've delivered 136 events and more than 300 women and girls have registered with us.
Thank you to every one of you who has trained with us, shared our posts and supported us along the way so far ❤️
