These courses are occasionally hosted at Boulder Brighton - see the Mountain Training website for details.

*Cave area rebuild from Monday 1st June for 2 weeks*

This summer we're carrying on with our work to keep the climbing fresh and new around the centre - this year with a rebuild of the Cave area! This is one of the original walls that we opened with in 2013, and we're excited to give it a bit of a facelift.

There will still be lots of steep climbing, but instead of a single horizontal roof we'll be building in a steep barrelled wall starting at about 75 degrees overhanging, with a couple of angle changes to give our routesetters lots of creative options and our climbers lots of varied blocs!

This means that, starting Monday 1st June, the back end of the right hand side of the centre will be largely out of action for a period of about two weeks. The New Slab and Bullseye Slab areas should remain open, but the Steep Corner and Cave will be out of bounds. We'll be open as usual, but there will be more limited booking availability and the space will probably feel a little busier than usual.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but really hope the final results will be worth it! Please bear with us over the period.

We unpacked a big delivery of new holds from , and at XIII - some are already up on the wall, look out for more being introduced over the next few sets.

Always seems a shame to get them chalky when they look this good on the ground! 😍

Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket for the Finals event at BB XIII last night, or added an extra donation - you raised £491 for to help in their work in mental health and youth su***de prevention. This year we decided to match this amount and round it up so we could get a round £1000 to a great cause.

One of the comp qualifier blocs was set in our Hold on For Harry holds in the Papyrus colours, and is still up for a while, make sure you give it a go.

It's a wrap!

Blown away by how many people came to celebrate with us over our anniversary weekend, we had over 900 people take part including more than 500 comp entries in the end, absolutely brilliant.

A huge shout for the Open Finalists who put on an amazing show for the crowd. Finals winners on the day were Luc Munier - first time winner after 5 previous Finals appearances - and Anais Bayne, who will have her name added to the winner's trophy after her sister's from from last year!

Youth Finals will take place next Saturday at 9am, we will be in touch with the finalists shortly to let them know.

All the scores for the event are now up on our website - link in bio.

Other prize winners on the day are listed below - if you haven't already collected your prize, it's waiting for you at the centre, so just ask at the front desk next time you're in:

🏆 Gender Inclusive: Elameno, Ruri Parker, Jessie Fleischhack
🏆 Masters Female: Chloe Parker, Hil Vince, Carina Bauer
🏆 Masters Male: Richard Johnson, Alastair Harrison, Nick Dove

The random prize draw from all competition entries will be taking place shortly, check back soon to see who won those!

Big thanks to the whole setting team for the Finals, qualifiers and festival boulders including Jake Mason, Zoe Wood, George Mellors, Dipika Hopkins, Oli Woolgrove, James Gomez, Charlie Taylor and Tom Bauer as well as all the rest of the amazing BB staff who put in a huge effort to make things run smoothly for the event. We're doing a lot of in-fill setting this week, with a load of the comp blocs still up for a while as well as a range of regular climbs in between.

Most of the qualifiers and finals blocs are still up for you to try until those areas get fully reset in the weeks to come, so still time to get involved if you couldn't make it at the weekend.

Lots of photos to come too! 📸
