A bit of a wet start, but when the clouds cleared the courts looked lovely and ready to play on straight away 🎾

Well done Hove Park Tennis Club!

Hove Park Tennis 1st team won the Parks League Division 1 for the first time in 13 years, and by a good margin - fantastic result to get us back on the top spot! Hove A came a very good 5th. In a very strong Division 2 this year Hove B came 6th and Hove C 8th. In Division 3 Hove D came an excellent 3rd and Hove E 5th. In Division 4 our newest team Hove F came a very strong 4th. Well done to everyone who played for any of these teams through the year.

Such a shame, but due to Lockdown announcements last night we have had to lock up the courts at Hove Park again.

Let’s hope this will be the last time, meanwhile stay safe.

We are so looking forward to being able to play tennis again later this week from Thursday.

You will notice that we have had new self closing gates fitted and we are working on providing an electrical supply courtside, hence the one day delay in opening. Once this is complete we shall inform you all on how they operate.

We have taken this opportunity during lockdown to have the courts jet washed and moss treated.

Sorry, no more tennis for now!
The Government have indicated that they won't be allowing outdoor tennis during the impending lockdown.
Unless anything changes we will unfortunately have to lock the courts as from Thursday morning and all bookings from that date will have been cancelled. The LTA are continuing to put their case for opening up tennis, but until then the courts at Hove Park will remain closed.
During this time though we shall arrange for the courts to be jet washed and moss treated and also the installation of 2 new entry gates.

There has been a huge increase this last couple of weeks in applications for memberships to the HPTA.
With the courts being in such high demand, as of today we have decided to put a hold on new memberships for the time being.
We want to protect our existing members and also pay and play customers and their ability to book courts.
However, this does not currently apply to previous members yet to renew their membership.
We have put in place a waiting list for new players who want to join and will review the situation in due course.

Welcome to all the new members and players at Hove Park.
It's great to see the courts being so well used!

It is great news that we are able to re-open the tennis courts at Hove Park, however, there are for now certain restrictions to ensure everyone's safety these are in line with Central Government and LTA guidelines.

The following are key points we should all try to adhere to:

Always keep 2 metres apart unless players are from the same household.

We have provided hand sanitiser on court please feel free to use but it we recommend you have your own supply to use especially before opening the gate.

Bring your own set of marked balls.

Consider leaving a few minutes early/arriving a few minutes late to limit the number of people on court.

Consider leaving a space between courts when booking if there is an option to do so.
