Cyclo-cross returns!
As the long hot summer draws to close and road racing events wind down for the year, the cycling calendar turns to cyclo-cross. A very popular discipline among PPYCC riders (including a few parents), the cyclo-cross season starts at Stanmer Park on 6th September Park, just outside Brighton. Cyclo-cross is racing on drop handlebar bikes with knobbly mud tires on a tight circuit with a variety of surfaces - dirt, tarmac, gravel, grass and mud (from October onwards, there is always mud!)....

Hill climb season is nearly here!
As the summer racing season draws to a close, there’s another great way for PPYCC riders to test themselves on two wheels – hill climb season. Hill climbs are one of the simplest forms of cycle racing. Riders set off individually and race against the clock to see who can get from the bottom of the hill to the top fastest....

Great to welcome our U16 rider Alex Goodwill back at Preston Park track this weekend. Alex has been with PPYCC since U8s and we were all super proud to see his recent win at the National Youth Circuit Championships in Scarborough in his final year as a Youth rider. As PPYCC's first National Youth Champion, Alex pulled on his national stripes and led a lap of honour with our younger riders, who then made even quicker work of his national champions cake! Well done Alex! @🍰🏆

Outer Ring cancelled this weekend – 2nd May
We are cancelling Outer Ring (the second session at 10:30am) this weekend as we have so many coaches and riders away at races. Inner Ring (at 9am) is happening as normal, as is the Girls' Taster Session at 9:30am. Spring in the Park and the Isle of Man Youth Tour are both happening this weekend, with many of our coaches attending with their children, so we do not have enough coaches available to put on the second session....
